Increase weight or different rotation?

I've been doing PS once a week for 10 weeks. I've increased weight the last 2 weeks. To get bigger muscles, should I continue doing PS with the increased weight, or change up the rotation and do Pyramids?

Thank you, in advance for any suggestions/ideas....

Hi!

I don't have an answer for you, just a question. How have you managed to stay with one rotation for such an extended period of time? I usually can't get past 4 weeks! What's your motivation? What keeps you going?

I'm really interested in what keeps people going. Even when I start noticing changes, I can go another week and then I lose focus......I switch to something else! What's with me!

I'd appreciate any advice you have to give,
Angie

One reason I stayed with Pure Strength for so long is they're the only strenth tapes I own. Another reason is I only did them once a week and I feel like weight training days are my easy days. I dread cardio much more than weight training. Plus, Pure Strength was the only tapes I did for 10 weeks - My other 4 days of workouts changed every 3-5 weeks. My main motivation is to stay thin. I've worked out intensely for 15 years. I can't lose all that time and work I've invested.

I say go with the Pyramids to shock your system. I was curious as to whether you had vhs or dvds? Also, I'd recommend the Slow & Heavy series if you don't already own it. I'm considering selling my vhs, you can email me at [email protected] if you might be interested.

If you want to continue with strength gains, I would recommend either the Pyramid and/or Slow and Heavy DVD.

Don't the Pyramid exercises move quite quickly? I thought for strength gain I had to do heavy wt and slow reps.?

Hi RhiannonW,

The rep pace in the Pyramid workouts vary depending on the weight used. On some exercises, triceps and shoulders come to mind as an example, Cathe uses a single count rep when the weight is light and then a two-count when the weight is heavier. On biceps, however, everything is done wih a two-count...and you totally feel it! :)

The pace between sets does move pretty quickly. There's very lttle rest in between.
