IMAX3. (need I say more?)

Tonight, I tried to get into this workout and couldn't do it. Maybe, the winter blues or just this workout so I decided to preview it once again. This is the only one left in my whole collection/rotation I haven't done before I begin again. I told my Boss tonight that it must not be one of those Monday night workouts but better on a Tuesday night. Does anyone relate?
TIA.

Jennifer,

Keep trying-this is my FAVORITE Cathe Dvd!! It will take some time to get it because she cues right on the move but I love this workout and I love the music!! Hang in there its a great accomplishment when you get it!

Jennifer,

I really like this workout, but it is a tough one. I definitely save this for the weekend or on a day I'm really motivated. I'm not too motivated on Mondays and the weekdays are just too busy for me to get the energy to do IMAX3. I can handle IMAX2 on a weekday, but not IMAX3. I know on Cathe's Jan 2007 rotation she had IMAX3 on a Monday, but I switched it out for the Friday cardio I believe. It is a lot of fun though when I have the energy for it.

I did Imax 3 last night! I figure if I can get through something that tough on a Monday, the rest of the week should be smooooooth sailing:)

I started with 1-5 and then went to another workout for the balance of the hour. A couple days later I did the same thing for 6-10. I did that about two or three times and then finally tried the whole thing 1-10 and found it went pretty well.

Hope that makes sense.

And I didn't beat myself up for modifying.

Good Luck!

I love the music and step combos but I will admit that on a lot of days it just is too high impact for me. I actually rather do cardio fusion than this one anymore. Some days I don't feel like doing all that jumping.

Jennifer, don't feel bad! I have been trying to get into this workout for MONTHS!!! I just can't do it! I have tried the 1-5 then 6-10 method, as well as just ploughing through it. It just doesn't click! Give me Imax 2 anyday! Now there's fun factor!!!

When I'm in the MOOD for interval cardio, Imax 3 is my favorite. On a bad night I want to quit after interval 5, but I talk myself into one more interval until the end and it usually works...}( I understand what you mean though b/c I usually have to be in the mood to do any type of kickboxing or I hate it and it's one, long workout (until Amy Bento's Kickboxing workout). Anyway, if ya don't like it, ya don't like it, but it is my favorite of the Imax's! I wish the music was louder in this one!

I understand your frustration with this workout. It's not one of my favorites. I haven't been able, or willing, to complete this one in it's entirety and like other posters have mentioned, I've also split it up. What gives this one a dread factor for me is that I don't think the music is as good as IMAX 2, the cueing is awful, and it's way too high impact. But, I guess if I did it more often the cueing wouldn't bother me so much, and I have been exercising long enough to know how to modify high impact moves. So, I'm hoping that in the future this one will click with me. So far though, that hasn't happened!

Just got this one 2 weeks ago. After I previewed it, tried doing it straight through and did not make it the first time.
When I tried it 2nd time it went much better. The third time I was exhausted. I do love the music.
Do you have Imax 2? I think it has a number of the same moves as Imax 2 but jazzed up a quite a bit. It helped me knowing the Imax 2 moves.
Do you have Kick Max? It seem to have the same winter blues effect on me.

Hi Amy,
This may have been my second time doing IMAX3, don't remember, but I got it a year ago in April just before I moved my workouts outdoors. I may give it another go this weekend though. IMAX2 flows smoother than this one does for me with better recovery times. But, I was fortunate to make it through the first time, must've been GOD smiling on me that day. No Kick Max here, only KPC/L&G.
Where do you live? I'm in west central MI-LP.

Jennifer

For whatever reason this workout just doesn't do it for me. It sits on the shelf. I keep thinking maybe I'll change my mind so once in awhile I will put the DVD in, take a peek and then promptly replace it with something else. Go figure.:+

Imax 3 is my all time favorite workout! However, after 2 years I still cannot complete every move...which keeps me motivated to continue to master this workout.

Great music, great calorie burn (one of the highest), great outfits on the crew, perfect HIIT challenge using a step.

Jennifer,
I'm in Western PA. Snowy here and brrrr chilling cold.
I agree Imax 2 does flow nicely. Seems most folks thinking is on this line too. What type of outdoor workouts are you involved in?
I cycle on the neighbor rail trail and do some hiking and lots of push mowing the lawn. That's exercise if you could see my yard!;)
MI-LP is - Michigan Lower Peninsula? Good luck with IMAX 3. I'm with you all the way.
Amy

I got this workout for Christmas and I don't know what it is, but I just can't get into it. I love the step routines, but am not too crazy about some of the intervals. I'd much rather do Imax 2.

I also agree with you about Monday workouts. I actually schedule Monday's as my off day in my rotations. Sundays are usually Imax 2 or an attempt at Imax 3, a weak attempt I must admit. So if I do anything on a Monday it's a segment of Core Max and Stretch Max. I can't handle much more than that!
