imax?

I have the HC series and never did any of the other imax's. I didn';t realize how much jumping there was in the workout. My body kind of hurts when I do all that jumping. Anyone else have that problem? Also, are the other imax very jumpy too?
Thanks
Lizzy

hey lizzy. yes, the other imax videos are very jumpy too. they are very hig impact workouts so they say you shouldn't do them more than 1-2 /week. wear good shoes!

These are VERY high impact workouts. I think Interval Max (the original) may be a bit less jumpy, but maybe I just have that impression because each interval blast is just one move instead of a series of moves).

I haven't tried IMAX3 yet, but if/when I do (I got rid of the other IMAX workouts because of the impact), I intend to modify quite a few of the blast moves in different ways: slowing them down by doing 1 for every 2 moves Cathe does, changing some to "Low-Max-type low impact blasts, not jumping as high or as long, or taking some moves to my rebounder.

I'd like my 48-year-old knees to last me quite a while longer!

I think I will have to modify more. Everyone raves about the imax workouts and this one I was really excited for, but my ankles, knees and the bottom of my feet start to ache. I just bought new sneakers, but maybe they aren't cushioned enough.

The IMax's are not joint friendly, in my opinion. My copy of IMAX3 is still in the shrink wrap and is probably going to stay there. I have given up on IMAX2 all together. I really loved the workout, but not what it did to my knees. There is way too much high impact in IMAX2. Since I eliminated it from my workouts, my knee problems have all but disappeared.

Hi I'm new to Cathe and I'm doing last December's rotation. Which one is Imax 1? I have Imax 2 and 3 but I can't find which one is Imax 1?
Thanks

Hi, Cocob1! "I-Max 1" is actually titled "Interval Max", and is on the DVD with "Rhythmic Step" and "Maximum Intensity Cardio".

I love the I-maxes. I-Max 1 the Original is still my favorite, but I've developed mish-moshes incorporating 2 and 3 as well. I do agree that that kind of high impact should not be done every day, but IMHO impact is not a dirty word. I have a bit of an advantage in that 2 of my workouts per week are strictly aquatic, so although there is impact the landing forces are greatly reduced.
