IMAX Ouch!

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to comment about the IMAXes...

I don't have IMAX 3 yet, and I've seen the "Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workouts" (which I refer to all the time - thanks to whoever posted that), so I can't imagine what I'm in for when I buy that, BUT I started with IMAX 2 and thought that was hard... who was I kidding? The original IMAX kicks my butt! Does anyone else find it crazy hard? I did IMAX 2 for the first time in a few weeks yesterday, and I found it so much easier. I think I might raise my step the next time I do it. Are any of you on the same page? Also, tell me a little more about IMAX 3... is it set up more like IMAX one, with just one continous movement repeated to exhaustion or more broken up like IMAX 2?

I think Interval Max is more challenging that IMAX2 in some parts, but much more straight forward, so seems like it should be easier.

I do IMAX2 the most, and recently reaquired the Interval Max DVD (I got rid of it before I gave myself permission to modify!). I have to say that I use IMAX3 very little, and am considering getting rid of it (so many workouts, too little time).

The cuing in IMAX3 is not as good as in the other two, and I don't find it fun to have to modify SOO much.

Thanks for the advice on IMAX 3. Good cuing is sooo important, considering once I know a workout, I just listen to Cathe and hardly watch the screen (my setup doesn't allow me to easily watch the TV during challenging moves).

It's not really the cuing that's the issue in IMAX3, it's more that there is less rest time between blasts so Cathe doesn't spend as much time teaching or repeating moves. With IMAX3 you basically go from a blast right into a full step routine without any practice time in between. Not to mention the choreography is much more complex.

But if you can make it through IMAX and are used to Cathe's style, you'll do fine w/IMAX3. In some ways it's a lot more fun b/c the intensity level isn't as high & the choreography is dancier, rather than athletic.
