IMAX 3 ...

Hi Everyone ~
I am looking to purchase Imax 3...Could you give me your thoughts on this work-out, good and bad?

Thanks!
Jenn :)

IMAX 3 is my favorite!!

However, if high-impact is an issue for you, then I would not advise this workout. There are several on the forum that say it is not knee and joint friendly and I can certainly understand their points of views.

So far, that is not an issue for me...it's truly a challenging workout.

I think IM3 is awesome! I feel like it's the underdog b/c IM2 always wins for most fun but truthfully I think this one is a blast as well. If you're an intensity junky this is the stuff!

It's my third favorite of the Interval Maxes, behind IMAX2 and Interval Max (first one). I don't really do it very often. I find the cuing not as good as in the other Imaxes, and some moves are just so over-the-top in impact, I modify a lot (don't have to with IMAX2, except that my jumps are not as high and/or wide!)

I really enjoy IMax 3. It's tough and very high impact, but if you want a challenge, go for it. You'll sweat, I promise. But you'll have fun, too. Even the step intervals can be challenging.

My main problem with this workout, besides the high impact, is that the choreography is too complex. When I get my HR up high I cannot concentrate on choreography. That is why I like IMAX 1 and 2 so much better. They are still a lot of fun but I don't have to "think" about what I'm doing dance wise. The moves flow easily. I tried learning the step only premix and still have problems, becuase she doesn't build the combo and some are very tricky, they do not have a good "flow" IMHO.

Jenn:
I enjoy Imax3 even better than Imax 2 because of the shorter rest periods in between the cycles. When I do Imax2, I tend to skip all rest periods (next frame on DVD control) and the total workout time is closer to only 38 minutes.
Imax3 has some challenging step moves beginning with the first cycle. It may be frustrating at first but once you get the moves down, you'll have a blast.
I would add it to your collection.
Have fun sweatin'

IMAX3 is fantastic. In fact I did it today. I enjoy the fact that sweat is flying half way through it. I enjoy the intensity of the moves and the fact that although I've done it many times it is never boring. It's also fun to mix it up with IMAX2 by doing half of each.

I love it. It's fun, totally modifiable if you want it to be easier or tougher, and it goes by really quickly. I really like the step routines before the blasts. I highly recommend this one. (And the music's great, too.)

I love this workout too! It's more challenging that Imax2, but as Jillybean said, it's very modifiable. I love the more complex step routines before the blasts, and the shorter recovery periods have really helped improve my cardio capacity. If I do Imax3 for several weeks and then go back to Imax2, Imax2 seems like a walk in the park.

I'm a HUGE fan of Imax 2, but I have to say Imax 3 was really disappointing. The step segments seem really choppy and out of sync with the blasts, and the blasts themselves involve almost all floor jumping. You'll probably like it if you love high impact floor aerobics.

I was really disappointed in this one. I'm sure it's fine for young bodies, but I just cannot take the impact on my knees on this one. Like Kathryn, I can make my way through Imax 1 and 2 with very little modification, but this one is too much. I really wanted a decent recovery time, too, between intervals. If you love a LOT of floor pounding jumps, go for it.
