IMAX 2

Hi all - I love Gin Miller's Intense Moves. It's a great workout and the choreography is perfect - not complicated. How would you compare Intense Moves with IMAX2 and how is the music. I'm still working on getting all the steps down in Step Heat. Also what step tape would you recommend once I master Step HEat?

Thanks

Mar

After Step Heat, I would move onto Step Jam, (which is pretty long, but fun to do), Step Works (my favorite non-interval Cathe step tape) or Power Max, another fun one. Re Interval Max II, Imax II is higher in intensity than Intense Moves but it does have somewhat tricky choreography (ricochets, figure 8's, insoles around the world, and up and backs). If you learn these moves in older Cathe workouts, you should be fine. Have you ever thought about getting the original Imax? It is more intense than Imax II, but less tricky in terms of choreography. Most of the step routines have you facing the tv the entire time, whereas in Imax II, she has you with your back toward the tv a bit. I like them both, but the original Imax wins out in terms of intensity and I just feel sheer joy every time I complete it!

Wow Jillybean,

I commend ANYONE who could complete IMAX 2, let alone IMAX 1. I have both but have only attempted 2, and during the VERY FIRST interval, I had to quit about 3/4 of the way through, ditto with the other intervals. With interval 9, I could only complete 2 complete sets up hopping over the step and then doing those excruciating jumps. I don't know how anyone could complete this. I won't even attempt it again until I lose more weight, for it is not a great idea to attempt either IMAX weighing in at 199 lbs! When I first attemped IMAX 2, a couple of months ago, I weighed 159 lbs approx. (yes I gained that much in just 2 months!). Just yesterday I completed Power Max just using the 4 inch topper of my step with no risers and was exhausted. I can't wait until my BB series comes, tomorrow, so I can do the Timesaver Disc. I have heard it is easier than CTX...is this true?

Sherry :p

Thanks for all the suggestions - JB I will try IMAX 1 and also Step Jam. Thanks for your super suggestions.

Mar;-)

Hi Mar, Imax 1 has more of the blast on the floor where in Imax 2 the blasts are more done on the steps. Like Jillybean said I think Imax 1 is harder then 2 but I like 2 better because it is more fun and the music is better:)

Sherry...

My friend Annette (Aquajock) adds 4 to 16 reps to the beginning or end of intervals 2-10 in Imax!!! I tried this starting last summer - adding only a few at a time, and only to certain intervals. I still have trouble adding to extra reps to interval #8 (the power scissors interval) but I can now add 4-16 reps to intervals 2-7 and intervals 9-10. I love it! You will too.

You know what really got me in shape cardiovascularly speaking? CTX! Do you have this one? I love it! I did nothing but that when I first started with Cathe. I did each workout as is for a few months and then ordered Imax on Annette's suggestion. I made it the whole way through without modifications my first try. Timesaver is easier cardio wise than CTX, (and there are only 5 workouts, not six), and Leaner Legs is tougher than Day 5 of Timesaver - BUT the upper body work, although more brief than that of CTX, is a real doozy. I love the push ups segment of Timesaver and the bicep segment using the ball as a preacher bench. You might like it! RE Imax - just keep going! Start with Imax II if you'd like. Each time you do Imax or Imax II, make yourself (unless you're in pain or really fatigued) do one more rep than the last time. You will be doing all of Imax one day and loving every heart thumping minute of it!!!!

RE: Sherry...

Hi Jillybean wow i commend you for doing this. You gave me a great idea to try out. Now do you mean for instance say on Interval 1 you go through the whole thing then go back to Interval one and do it again then continued or do it again several time and then continue?
