Imax 2 and burning chest

it isn't my heart, but feels more like bronchial problems or lungs, I just started back so I am taking it pretty easy, step is at it's lowest it can go and trying not to get the heart rate to high and taking more breaks then normal, just to ease my body back into it, but the burning, is that a normal thing after starting back, no I don't smoke or drink, so this is kind of odd for me, but then I have taken over a year off to get my knee to heal.

Hi Leslie! Welcome back and glad to hear you are all healed. But I have to say, if you have taken over a year off, you really should consider coming back with a much easier workout. Any of the Imax's are way too tough to take on after a year off. Switching to a less intense workout may immediately stop the burning in your chest.

Regarding the "burning" sensation... I too experience that in my chest (even when I am at my fittest) when doing intereval workouts. As soon as I reduce my intensity a bit it goes away.

See if this works for you too. It sounds like you are perhaps doing too much too soon. A year off is a long time and you really need to ease your body back at a more gradual pace. Good news is that after about three weeks of modifying, you will notice much greater improvements in your cardio capacity and strength gains from that point on.

Good Luck!

Thank you Cathe!! I will do something with less intensity! so glad I am not the only one with the burning sensation, I thought I was going mad LOL, I am so excited to get back to your workouts!!
