Both of my boys are legally blind. They CAN see but even with correction they are only 20/90. So they needed to develop peripheral vision and depth perception and couldn't do that with glasses. Believe me, at first it was like feeding an octupus but once they were in and they could see better, they really didn't mind. It took about 2 months to get the technique down.
There were quite a few laughs along the way (they are 5 and 8 now) like when I was trying to take out the lenses that were already out!!!!! My son was saying, why are you trying to take my eyeball out. And of course the infamous can't find the contact because it is stuck to your finger!!!!!!
Or putting the wrong lens in the wrong kid's eyes!!!! I realized it when they were both staring at me like they were stoned!!!!
