I'm SOOOO Confused!

Hi Cathe and anyone else with input. I would like to lose about 10 - 15 pounds. I do not have a lot of muscle definition, particulary in my upper body, shoulders and triceps. I was told by a personal trainer that I need to stay within my "fat burning" heart rate range in order to burn fat when doing cardio. If I do my heart rate should be about 128 or so which feels like I am not even working out. I have always struggled to drop these pounds and get some definition for so long! Any ideas???

I am not Cathe, nor a personal trainer, but I read a lot and have found that recent studies have shown that interval training (short bursts of anaerobic heart rate level then back into training zone) has more benefit with regards to fat burning than steady state cardio. They have found that this keeps the metabolism revved at a higher rate for longer after the workout, thus burns more total calories.
