Joey and I are doing really good since the domestic violence happened on Feb. 9th.
Here is our update:
He quit all drinking, threw it all out.
Going to Domestic Violence classes once a week.
Going to AA once a week.
Going to (IOP, I don't know what that stands for) a drug and alcohol recovery program once a week.
He has my support all the way, and he is doing way beyond my expectations.
We exercise together with Cathe, and with Tony the P90X series. Also I throw in some of my (Janie's workouts) as well. We sit down after our exercises and bump our protein shakes together and say "here's to a great exercise". We also sit down and eat dinner together and have lovely conversations. Sometimes we get short with one another. Hey that's life.
He has gained muscle, lost his tummy and flab, and looking awesome. He thinks clearer, eats well and is wonderful to be around. He continues to treat me with respect, honesty and love. And I love it!
He use to weigh 218 and now weighs 204 pounds. I can't believe the turnaround. He has realized and come to understand that you can live without booze and be happy.
Joey will turn 70 July 2nd, and I will be giving him a huge birthday party. All his friends and family will come to help us celebrate. No one will bring or drink alcohol in any form.
Sounds like a fairy tale doesn't it. Well he has put in a lot of time and effort in recovering and wants this behind him. He wanted to change, I think that is the one thing why it is working so well.
Anyway I'm bursting my buttons with all the changes he has done and successfully accomplished. It hasn't been easy for him, but he did it, and I'm grateful. Now I'm living with a person that I fell in love with 17 years ago, the only difference is, it's better. I'm confident that this change will continue for a very long time.
Thank you everyone for all your suggestions while I vented and the support you showed me was awesome. This will be the last of the updates because I think we got a hold of this problem and can finely continue our life again.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.
