Hi, my name is Gwendolyn. I'm 19 and i have 2 little boys. I've had lots of trouble with my weight, i used to be bulimic. I weigh 198 lbs, and im 5'3. I dont show my weight that bad, most people think i weigh 150 lbs. But my question is, how long do u think it will take for me to see results and do u have any weightloss tips for me? Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Gwendolyn
Wow 19 and 2 kids I am Lisa I am 41 and have 3 boys I have never hada n eating disorder But I can tell you I love to eat So I exercise evevryday and boy iy works It really works when you are younger like you I started working out when I was 21 after the birth of my first son I really was interested in relieveing stress more then weight control seems after having Adam the weight just fell off But anyways I can tell you if you use Cathes videos and just dedicate a hour a day or even a half hour a day to moving your body you will feel great and look good too. I strongly suggest aerobics and weights together not just 1 or the other. Good luck to you Where do you live? I am sure you will get lots of replies because evryone on this forum is really great. Ok keep us posted on yuor progress

Welcome, Gwendolyn. First I'd like to say "you can do it!!" And, as Lisa mentioned, it's easier to drop the weight now than later. My biggest advice is not to give up. You're entering a new healthy world and it'll be a journey, don't expect all the changes to happen overnight! Cathe tapes can be a bit intimidating at first, but just do what you can, it's not a competition. Depending on your fitness level you can just start out by taking you and the kids out for a daily walk.

Also, healthy eating is VERY important too! Plus, you'll be instilling healthy eating habits for your children! There are alot of great books out there, but the basic premise is to avoid "packaged" foods like your frozen dinners, mac-n-cheese out of the box, fast food etc. Start slowly by eliminating one thing a week and replacing it with something healthy. Fresh fruits and fresh vegetables are great snacks! Of course you don't want to "deprive" your children of fun treats, but have them during only one night of the week and in moderation, like during a "family movie night".

Let us know how we can help!

Oops...forgot to mention two books you might want to either purchase or get from the library. One is Picture Perfect Weight Loss...it's more of a "visual" book on what is healthy, easier to "read" with kids around, lol. And, Sugar Busters for Kids, it'll give you some great ideas for healthier kid-friendly food choices. I know your kids may not even have a weight problem, but I think healthy eating should be a family affair!
