I'm looking for......

MY MOTIVATION!

You know in the last few weeks I have hurt my knee and caught a cold, and now I just feel like...doing nothing. I watch the video clips and get excited and get ready to go workout and then by the time I get off the computer, I'm thinking of all the reasons I shouldn't workout. Then of course, I don't workout at all. It's crazy because after my trip to the studio, I made strides in my exercise I'd never made before, (i.e. finishing whole video's I'd never finished before, lifting heavier, eating better) now it's like I've reverted to the pre-Cathe Christi. My eating has been awful, I try to write out a full day's meals, and then before I even think about, I'm gobbling down 2 or 3 snack size bags of my kids Doritoes for lunch, plus I occasionally binge. Ugh! I'm a so sick of this. How do you all keep your motivation to workout and eat right all of the time? Help me PLEASE!

CHRISTIE!!!!

Where the heck have you BEEN girl? You've been MIA for a while! We missed you:)

The fact that I don't eat right all of the time IS my motivation to work out:)

You need a kick in the butt. Here... *kicks you in the butt*.

There. You are awesome and beautiful and you can get right back on that train and do those videos that you were doing before and lift heavy again and eat right. BACK AWAY FROM THE DORITOS!!!

;)

Oh, and here's a ((((hug)))) cuz I missed you.

Hi Christie!!! Sending more ((((HUGS))).

For motivation, I keep a picture of me at my fattest to look at when I feel like cheating.:p Cut yourself some slack though. It's REALLY hard to eat clean ALL the time but what I do when I'm thinking about chocolate (uh-oh) is put something "clean" in my mouth instead. Sugarless gum, fruit, anything but chocolate...x(

Buy a new video or something to get you even more motivated.

Good luck. I'm glad Shelly gave you that kick so I don't have to.;-)

:7 I guess maybe I should go bite the bullet and go exercise to see how much endurance is gone huh? Do you all write out your meals. And do you all feel like you are super constrained after eating right for a few days. It's like I get to a point where I feel I should be able to eat what I want, and then that's exactly what I do. It was never this hard before.

There isn't enough paper or bandwidth in the world to write down what I eat:p

And, yes, occasionally I get it into my head that I should be able to eat whatever the heck I want and not pay for it, but it doesn't work that way, and after a few days of doing that I feel like dirt and the scale is not friendly.

But we're tough. We can do this thing:)

You are right. Maybe I'm letting myself become overly fascinated with food. It's not like I don't have enough other things to keep me busy. I think I'm going to start doing like the Biggest Loser and actually putting all the temptations on a tier in my house. Maybe if I see them in that light, I'll avoid it. It's when I can sneak a few out of the pantry and zip them in my mouth before my hubby sees them that I do the worse damage.

Christi just do what I do and jump back in. After I've been on a two to three day "all you can stuff in your body" food binge, that first work out is so hard to start and when you do get started, you're thinking, "okay I'm going to die any minute". But it has been my experience that that first workout is the worst and the second one the next day isn't nearly as bad. When you get back to exercising, your eating habits become better.

Just jump in there and get that first work out over with. You'll be glad you did!! I know I always am. You are not as pre-Cathe as you think you are, once you get started those muscles remember and you are farther along than you think you are.

Here's {{{{{HUGS}}}}}} from somebody who has been where you are many times and probably will be again but I know even though I visit there, I don't live there anymore. I always come back home to exercising and clean eating. :) ;)

Hi Christi!

Sorry that you have been feeling unmotivated lately.

A few things that keep me motivated is realizing how much better I feel when I work out and eat right.

As has been said previously, eating clean does not necessarily mean eating perfect. You should allow for treats from time to time. On that note, I have always written down what I eat on a daily basis. I don't go into a lot of detail, but just in general if I can note what I eat at least I can go back and look for trends when I don't that I'm where I should be.

Another thing that keeps me motivated is when I look at others who waited until it was too late for them to begin working out. Don't get me wrong as it's never too late, but because they allowed themselves to get into such a rut, it's very hard for them to see otherwise and that's what they believe. That attitude in itself is self-defeating...

So, bottom-line you know what to do and you know where to come when you need support....WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??

Christie,

When you find that perfect motivation pill, sent me a prescription.
I can't give you any advice as far as eating, because that is my downfall too. But as far as working out, I tell myself to just do 5 or 10 minutes. That usually turns into 5 or 10 minutes more, and before you know it, you've finished the workout. Good luck. Keep on keeping on.
