Congrats Susan, I'm still hoping my co-worker will change her vacation so I can hopefully get a spot, especially since she's now not sure if she wants to take that time off or not, but hasn't made up her mind.
For those of you that have never taken a live step class. It is a total blast, it really is awesome to hear everyone step or jump on the step at once, and hear that low thump! And don't worry about making fools of yourself, everyone will be learning the routine, so no one besides Cathe will have it down. Just follow Cathe and not the person a head of you, or you maybe doing that person's interpretation of Cathe and not your own. But the energy of a step class is really awesome and very catching. You'll be exhausted physically, but your emotions and zest for fun/life will be at an all time high. You'll feel like you just won a race, that your whole team just won (everyone in the room), and it's time to party. Live step classes can be very addicting. And don't worry no one will be watching you, they'll all be watching Cathe, as she's the one who knows the routine, you on the other hand are in the same boat they are, so their eyes will be glued on Cathe. The only time you get to look around the room much is when you know the routine, and can afford those few second glances. Since everyone will be learning the routine, everyone is going to be looking at Cathe or their step. Before and after the workout you'll be notice, but during the workout, most of the room won't know your there.
Also just a little note from experience, if you get lost with the routine or behind, pause and wait until they do a step you are comfortable with. Don't get nervous or in a hurry because you’re lost or you think your not keeping up, or whatever thought pops into your mind just ignore it. You'll end up tripping or kicking your step into someone. And it's a lot less embarrassing to take a 3 second break and continue on the next step or next round which ever, then to that THUNK!! BAM!!! and everyone turns to see what happen, and you got to bend down and put your step back on it's risers while the whole class watches, or worse yet scurry up to where you step slide and drag it back to your spot. Just tell yourself pausing isn’t a big deal, you can even get a drink of water to cover being lost. But you can’t cover kicking that step.
Good luck all, best wishes, and have fun.
Kit
