Hi all. Just posted this in the table 12 check-in. Will do more later.

I'm B-A-A-A-A-A-C-K!!!!!!!!!! Missed you all bunches!!! Have lots of checking in to do and see what's been happening on the forums the last few days. Thanks for the kind thoughts, good vibes, and positive energy!

Made it the whole way, one TEEEEENY TINY blister (the folks in medical were amazed!) Out of 1140 walkers my 2 training buds and I were in the top 15 every day. Sore ankles - arthritis knee is a bit tight and needs some more ice - but I don't think I'll tackle IMAX2 tomorrow - HA!

Good walking weather 1st 2 days - rains came overnight last night (hey hitting a portapotty at 2:30 a.m. in the pouring rain was a new experience for me.) The whole walk today was in an absolute DOWNPOUR at 58 degrees. Cold, wet, rainy, raw, but we made it - every step. They did however CANCEL closing ceremonies - so it was rather anticlimatic. We all walked into the holding area where you are supposed to walk the last mile together. Nope - they had us keep walking - then go into a hotel (really NICE of the Marriot to let us use one of their banquet rooms) announced that we'd raised 2.8 million dollars. "Thanks for coming, please go get your stuff and have a nice drive home." No tears, no hugs (we were all way too wet and freezing cold), a few high 5's and then we were on our way.

I have to go do some laundry and welcome home my monsters - will share more and check in (for real) with you all when I get caught up. Miss you guys! <<<hugs>>>

Lorrie!!

Congrats!! What an accomplishment!! And what a wonderful thing you did for so many others! Sorry about the rain. Hope you have taken a warm bath and well deserved nap by now. Nurse that sore knee and hopefully you will be back and ready to tackle IMAX2 in no time!!;-)

We all kept thinking about you.(((((((HUGS)))))))

Welcome home Lorrie!!!!

Girlfriend, I hope right now you're up to your neck in bubbles in the bathtub (Carole is SO right on with that suggestion!), sipping on a glass of whatever floats your boat, and basking in the great feeling of SUCCESS!!! I'm so sorry that your last day was in such miserable conditions and that your whole group missed out on the emotions of a closing ceremony, but honey, NONE of that erases one smidgen of what you accomplished and I hope you are HUGELY proud of yourself -- because we sure are!!! :)

(((((((((((((((WARM HUGS)))))))))))))))) and XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO!!! Can't wait to hear more about it when you're warm and rested!

Congratulations! Great job, well done! That's ALOT of walking and I cannot believe how much money was raised.

AWESOME!:7

Hello, Lorrie!!!

I am sooo proud of you!!! What a terrific accomplishment to add to your memory box!

Sorry to hear about the rain, I can imagine that was chilly too after it stopped?

Your experience in the portapotty reminded me of a similar situation I had. Memorial Day in South Fork, CO we were trying to build a log cabin, the weather changed suddenly (which it does there all the time)...and I found myself inside a portapotty with my husband and his brother seeking shelter from a HAIL STORM! x(

I am sure you will remember your portapotty experience forever as I will!!! :7

xoxo, neicebug :)

Here's a great big {{{{HUG}}}} for doing a great job. I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate the whole three days. Now you can relax a bit.

Lorrie,

Congratulations! You did the 60 miles walk. WOW - even in a downpour of the rain. That must have been a real bummer. Raining when it is 58 degrees can be miserable. Knowing you though, you probably handled it really well.

It was 56 degrees here today and rain also. I live in Michigan. Did you do your walk in Ohio? I know that you live in Ohio. I just couldn't remember where you did your walk.

Take a not hot bubble bath and put a band aid on your blister and you will be good to go in just a few short days!

Hugs,

Cheryl

YAY Lorrie.....welcome back! I'm so proud of your accomplishment. It has been raining here all weekend and I was hoping the rain would miss you!

I second Cheryl's suggestion....a warm bubble bath sounds like the perfect thing after that!

Lorrie--
Congratulations!! ^^5s!! What a accomplishment! It was so nice meeting you at the RT and I'm so sorry you were drenched the last 20 miles. (Hopefully, RT memories kept you a little warmer...) Take care of your knee and I hope you'll post more soon about the walk.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Congratulations on finishing your monumental weekend walk! Quite an accomplishment, and something to be very proud of!

Do you plan to continue to walk? Just wondered since you've acclimated your bod to these long walks - do you plan to keep up this activity level or compensate some other way? Just curious.

Great job, Lorrie, and welcome back! You're one tough lady to endure 20 miles in the rain!

LORRIE! LORRIE! LORRIE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited for you and so proud of your accomplishment.
AND...to have finished in that type of weather is a feat in itself!
WOO HOO!
I hope you know that no matter how 'anticlimactic' it was due to the change in plans for the closing ceremony, you do NOT need a hero's welcome to be a
HERO
Your efforts have helped raise much-needed money for families world-wide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
