I'm a Gramma!! I'm a Gramma for the very first time!:7:7:7 My daughter has been in labor for the last two days, so I've been too nervous to do ANYTHING but pace the floors. She's in Oregon and I'm in AZ so I've been going crazy! Anyway, she had a healthy baby girl who weighed in at 7lb.11oz. They decided to name her Holden Isobel.
I can't even think right now.....I just had to share this with my bestest friends!!!!!!:7:7:7:7:7

Thank you all so much! I'm hoping to be able to go to Oregon at the end of September. I am so excited and feeling kind of delirious. I CAN'T wait to see my granddaughter. It was so very special. My second oldest son(who just graduated from college and is going to be a pediatrian) lives with my daughter and got to see her give birth. I talked to him right after Bradi (my daughter) had Holden. He was so touching. He said, "Oh, Mom, Holden is beautiful!" Then I called my oldest son that lives here in Phx. and he burst into tears! Boy, what a joyous and emotional time! I'll be counting the days until I can hold that sweet little bundle of joy in my arms!:D
Thanks again for letting me share!:7

Congratulations from a fellow Gramma!!! It is the greatest feeling. I'm a young gramma - 51 and I have 5 of them - the youngest are both 4. Sherry - be forewarned - you will let them get away with almost anything - trust me - I'm living it. I have a soon to be 16 year old granddaughter - Christine - she's into the makeup, boys, etc. Gramma to the rescue!! You'll get calls like - "Gramma - I was wondering if you could...." fill in the blanks. In my case its to go shopping for clothing, makeup and more clothing. The most unusual things happen when I take her shopping - I'm not that strict mother I used to be - I have 3 daughters - and for you young mothers out there - do you remember your mom saying - are you going out dressed like that? or don't you think you have on too much makeup? With my Chrissy - pretty much anything goes... so you see... it's easier when their your grandchildren.

All the best Sherry!!

Take care!!

Iris

Oh Sherry....what great news! I'm so excited for you. :7 :7 :7
Can't wait to see pictures of Holden Isobel. Have you see what adorable clothes etc they have for little ones these days? Do I see Gramma on some shopping trips? :p

Great big hugs from me to you

Wow Sherry! Congratulations!!! You set a new precedent for what a grandma looks like!!! I no of no other grandma that is as fit as you are!

Sherry!

How did I miss this yesterday??? CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just wait! Nothing like it. Iris is sooo right too when she says it is different then your own children. Not that we don't love our kids as much, but there is just a different bond between Nana, Papa and their grandkids. Your story of your two sons was very touching too. Glad one of her brothers could be there to share that special joy when it happened. Keep us posted, with LOTS of pix! Congrats Grandma!!!!!http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/love/ylinfant.gif

RE: Sherry!

Hi, Sherry!

We haven't "met" (I was a punk and didn't fully introduce myself with my first posting), but I just wanted to congratulate you on your new grandbaby. :) Enjoy every second with her.

Take care!

RE: Sherry!

Sherry....I'm so happy for you!!!! Here I am pregnant and my dh and I were just discussing the other day how incredibly fun it's going to be to have grandchildren. You get to enjoy them and spoil them and you never have to stay up at night when they are sick or not sleeping, and when your exhausted...you simply send them home and say "grandmas tired". AND when you tell them the story of Little Red Riding Hood you can substitute this in......"and Little Red Riding Hood said, grandma what huge biceps you have, and grandma what cool striated shoulders you have, and grandma what a pumped bicep vein you have....and the grandma said...I got them from pumping iron and I beat that big bad wolf over the head with a Cathe IMAX I tape and he's dead in the closet". Somehow the other version seems so far fetched!!

BIG CONGRATS!!!!!
