As we start the first week in November we're excited to report that we have finished all of our final edits and now are starting to design all of of the menu screens for the DVDs. This means we're in the final phase of post production called DVD Authoring. This is where we will transform the edited video from each ICE workout into a DVD master. This is also where we create and add the DVD chapters and premixes.

Speaking of "Premixes" make sure to read yesterday's post about how we designed and chose the premixes for the ICE DVDs. Starting later today....and all this week... we will begin to share the final details of the Premixes for each DVD.

Here are all of the steps that every DVD and Video we make have to go through before our DVDs can be shipped to you:

1. Research and Development - Done!
2. Rehearsals - Done!
3. Filming - Done!
4. Rough editing - Done!
5. Final Editing - Done!
6. Video Graphics - In Progress
7. DVD Authoring - In Progress
8. Proofing - Not Started
9. Masters Sent to Replicator - Not Started
10. DVD Covers - In Progress
11. DVD Replication - Not Started
12. Shipping - Estimated for late Fall, 2015

Any chance the workouts will be available On Demand earlier, since - it would seem like - some of those steps aren't necessary for On Demand viewing?

No, we always release our new videos on our OnDemand streaming site at the same time as our DVDs to be fair to all of our customers. But there really is very little difference in production time when you compare making a DVD to launching a video on our OnDemand site. Because of the Workout Blender we have to break every video into chapters and then encode every chapter at three different resolutions. Then there is all kinds of complex coding that has to be done to make everything work. If wasn't for custom software we had developed to speed things up this process would take several months, but even with our special software it will take us at least two weeks and perhaps longer to finish our files for the upload to the OnDemand site.
