I am recovering from a particularly bad bout of IBS and fatigue. I have had IBS for many years, but after some recent reading, I decided to try some new advice: avoiding concentrated protein (ie, meat, fish, eggs) in the evenings. I am finding this VERY helpful - the abdominal pain and discomfort (which tends to be bad in the evenings) has gone. Usually I'm still uncomfortable when I go to bed, so now I feel a lot better.
My problem...
I do my workouts in the evenings! I'm really not a morning person! So, after lifting weights, I can only eat foods that are mainly carbs and veg.
What are your thoughts on the impact on my weights workouts? I make sure I eat a lot of protien foods at breakfast, snack, and lunch, so will this be enough? How important is it to eat protein AFTER weights? Will I be wasting my time? Or is the protein from earlier in the day enough?
