I was wondering if anyone else experiences this….

Every time about 10 to 15 minutes after I finish a work out I get very cold so I have to make sure I wear something warm. It usually happens after a medium to high intensity workout. Do any of you experience this? Is it my body trying to tell me something? It started about 3 or 4 years ago. That actually coincides with me turning 40 and wonder if that has anything to do with it. What’s going on? Any ideas?

I always get cold about 10 to 15 minutes after high intensity workout when it is winter. I can't wait to take off the sweaty clothes and take a really hot shower. I guess because our heart rate goes back to normal so you get the chills.

Thank you for your response Barbara. Do you experience it in the summer too? I'm not sure now if I do experience the same thing in the summer. I'll make a note of it and see.

Thank you!

I think it means your body is healthy and functioning as it should. Sweat is the body's way of cooling you down. It cools down on our skin surface to reduce your temperature. That's exactly what is happening.

Happens to me all th time, but in Summer of course, the air temp is higher, so the effect is not the same.

You sound normal to me! Go grab that hot shower!

Clare,

Thank you for your response. I thought maybe old age had something to do with it. I'm glad to know that is normal.

Have a great day!

For me, I'm covered with sweat but still hot right after the workout. 10 minutes later, my body is cooler but if I still haven't taken the sweaty clothes off yet, I start to get cold. Makes sense.

:)

I experience this in the winter. So after my workouts, I change my clothes inside my walk-in closet. I shut the bathroom door, then shut the closet door, towel myself off thoroughly before getting into my sweats and socks, then go to the kitchen to make coffee (if I work out in the morning).:) I live in Texas where it's hot for the rest of the year, so I only have do this for about three months.
