I want to whittle my waist!

What is the secret? I work out 6 days a week, Cathe tapes ...currently tank top arms, have muscle definition and watch what I eat. My waist is 31 inches and not shrinking. I am in my mid forties which doesn't help and have had 2 c sections. I want to put my jeans on and TUCK IN my shirt. Has anyone my age actually gotten those bikini abs or close to it? :)

I would like to know too!! I am 37 with 2 children (vaginal deliveries) and although there is muscle there--I cannot for the life of me get rid of the excess skin/rolls. Now I did read on one of the forums that your stomach is formed in the kitchen so no matter how hard you work if you don't eat well it won't help.
When you find out the answer let us all in onit!!!!!

Have you tried Kickboxing? This is great for the waist. Also, walking and using your arms in a bend position to propel you along is good also.

Also, try ab work on a fitball.

The ideal is to do your ab work without adding on too much additonal time to your workouts.

Hi Girlies,
I have that little bit of skin hanging out to.Somedays it just seems to disappear and other days I have more of a poof.
It is true that eating well as ALOT to do with the waist.I would imagine out of all the body parts that we lose weight from that the waist is the last to go.Cathe as always talked about running, helps to slim the waist. And personally for me eating right always gets me results.

Well, I think I am going to incorporate 4 new things into my workout because if I don't shrink my waist now it will just get worse with age..I'm going to shake things up a bit....1. better clean eating 2. exercise ball with ab work 3. running (yuck, I's better change my attitude about this) and 4. buy cardio kicks and incorporate kickboxing. I'd love to whittle down to 25 inches, but that is probably impossible without a tummy tuck, so I'll settle for 28 inches.;-)

One more thing, drink plenty of water. When we are slightly dehydrated the body kindly stores a little extra for an emergency, and right there is one of the warehouses. So some bloating can go away in one day with an adequate water intake. I have done this myself in one day. But there is still a lil' extra there, on me... (age 43, one kid)

I drink alot of water when I work out but definitely don't drink enough throughout the rest of the day. I'll add that to my list.
