I think my neighbor ...

Well, at first I didn't even bat an eye about the $3000 a month (and how do you know that, just out of curiousity?) because that's standard around where I live, but yeah, I could see how that would raise a brow or two. Is she willing to pay more for the privacy?

All kidding aside, I do search with the local sheriff's office, and they don't "keep an eye" on someone for a lark. They obviously suspect something, but have no proof.

I think as women we do not follow our instincts enough, and that ends in getting us hurt. If you have little red flags popping up all over the place whenever you're around her, be careful around her.

And by the way - Mrs. Kravtiz had a right to be a bit concerned, didn't she? Funny things WERE going on at the Steven's house...

And no - that does not mean they'll be in the neighborhood more often, but if you cooperate, that does mean they will be in the neighborhood faster.

$3,000.00 is way more than mortgages are around here, and I know that's what she pays because she was complaining to me about the condition of the house and how the landlord wasn't immediately responsive. She said for $3,000 a month she expects problems to be solved immediately. I also know from the real estate agent who listed the house for sale that the owner's mortgage is 2,500.00, so he'd have to bring in that much in rent to make it fly. I just think that's a lot of money to pay for no equity. But you're probably right - if she's that wealthy - it means nothing to her.

Do you think it could be drugs. Like maybe them making Crystal Meth. That would explain the over abudance of money any way.

Around here, you pay $3,000/mo. you can maybe rent a small one-bedroom apartment. Where do you live?

They sound like they're hiding something, but murder?

I would keep track of the comings and goings if I were you. Why wouldn't you want to help the investigation? The cops can't be there every second and if they were, the bad guys would notice and be more cautious.

If there is something going on, they are BETTING on you not wanting to "get involved", "be nosy" or they think you are too stupid to notice something is going on. If lots of seedy types are coming and going, particularly if they are only there for a few minutes at a time, probably there are drug deals going on or...in a friend's case...counterfeiting was going on in her neighbor's garage. The guy was turning $1's into $100's and passing them on.

If it were me with 3 small kids I would be doing anything I could to expose these people. This is serious.

If she is only 29 years old, how old was her husband who died of a heart attack??? My guess is older if it was a heart attack and if there is an age gap, likely a marriage based on $$$$. All her $$$ may be inheritance from her husband.

If they are dealing/doing crystal meth (tweak) they will be doing most of their activity at night. People coming for the drugs (if any) will come in cars, on bikes and the heel/toe express. My friend has 3 teens that tweak. I have seen them high and it is scary. I'm glad they moved 50 miles away. Their mom was scared of them and never did anything about getting them help. By chance, do you have her first/last name and what county do you live in?

Agree with you Lorrie this just doesn't sound right. Only 29, people coming and going. Go with your gutt which says something is VERY WRONG here. I do not believe in innocent until proven guilty when kids are concerned.

What can you do - I'd assume the worse and keep your kids as far away as possible. Are they immediate neighbors? The potential dealing drugs is very scary

Wow I don't know, but this is all too creepy. I say trust your intuition. If you feel something is wrong it probably is. If after all you were not wrong then you can sleep in peace, but at least you paid attention to your intuition. I would rather act crazy and protect my family even if I was making wrong assumptions than to say "oh that's just too Hollywood for this neighborhood" and then starting to regret not listening to my intuition if something bad happens. I agree with the previous replies, there are a lot of red flags, again they might be coincidences, but I wouldn't ignore them.

"Trust that what causes alarm probably should, because when it comes to danger, intuition is always right in at least two important ways: 1) It is always in response to something 2) It always has your best interest at heart. Having just said that intuition is always right, I can imagine some readers resisting, so I'll clarify. Intuition is right in the ways I noted, but our interpretation of intuition is not always right. Clearly, not everything we predict will come to pass, but since intuition is always in response to something, rather than making a fast effort to explain it away or deny the possible hazard, we are wiser (and more true to nature) if we make an effort to identify the hazard, if it exists.

If there's no hazard, we have lost nothing and have added a new distinction to our intuition, so that it might not sound the alarm again in the same situation." - Gavin de Becker, The Gift of Fear

Just thought I would share that. Take care and keep us posted.

There's a lot of spooky sicko folks out there so I don't think you're nuts!

Example: We live like 4 miles from where Jeffrey Dahmer grew up. He went to our mall, stores, etc. It's insane cuz my mom SWEARS up and down that years ago he tried to pick her up when she was jogging but she ran up to someone's house. (This happened around the time of his first victim when he was a late teen) She says she recognized him after he was caught. Then years later when my lil' sis was working customer service desk Dahmer Sr. would call to see if his drycleaning was finished. It's like...Spooky!!

Then there was the guy my dad used to pick up hitch-hiking when he was in college: come to find out the guy ends up killing somebody else who picks him up. This guy in a train caboose spotted the driver's body and reported it, and the police arrested the kid my dad had picked up 2 times.

Now hows that for some Halloween fright!!
I have a hard time trusting because there are alot of evil-doers in the world.
