I need some motivation...

I don't know if its the time change but I am just dragging and do not feel like working out at all. I should do a good cardio but all I want to do is curl up on the couch and do nothing. Any motivating words? Anyone just want to relate? I feel bad because I didn't work out Sat or Sun so I'm supposed to be on today.

I know exactly how you feel this weather is just making me want to crawl under the covers and nap. I also didn't work out Sunday or Thursday and super duper don't feel like working out today. Between school and studying I just don't have it in me right now. I am also waiting for P90X to arrive so once that gets here maybe I will feel a little bit more pumped up.
I think part of my problem is that I am a little burned out on step right now. I tried to do BM2 Friday, just the cario blast premix and found that I was struggling big time. I didn't have the energy level or the enthusiasm not to mention my legs felt like led weights so on all the jumping parts I would trip on the step.
So I am telling myself that I shouldn't feel bad because I exercise right now more than the average American (or at least I think I do) 3-4 hours a week just from teaching aerobics. Once P90 gets here I will have a renewed energy but for now with the time change and weather I think its okay to slack a little bit. We are exercisers for life and we aren't going to quit anytime soon because we know how we feel when we are done. It's just that right now our bodies or at least mine are trying to adapt so I am going to let it.
So sorry no words of encouragement just wanted to say I feel you.

Ohhhh...I love that...so true....exercisers for life. And yes the cold weather and darkness at 5:30 are making me fatigued. Tomorrow is another day.

Well, if you have the money...buy some new workouts that you've been wanting for a long time. I'm totally pumped up and having fun working out with my new Amy's. Then again, you may just need to take a few days off to adjust to the time change and the winter weather. Nothing wrong with a few days off....even a week as long as you get back into it. Or, put in a workout that you enjoy doing and just get moving. 9 times out of 10 if I start a workout the endorphines kick in and I end up finishing the workout and feeling great. I give myself permission to stop on a bad day but like I said 90% of the time...those endorphines kick in if I can just make myself get started. Good luck!

I can totally relate, Divagirl. I've had an ankle injury, then lately I've been sick, and this week it's PMS! So many things to drag me down. I rested Friday through Sunday, but today I managed to do some step aerobics. Like Angela, new Amy Bento workouts are helping my motivation. I have a plan for this week but I'm really taking it day by day since I'm still not at 100%. I like that lifetime exercisers idea. :)

How about a walk outside. It is better than nothing and maybe it'll lift your spirits. Nothing like being outside w/ the fall weather. I have ruts like that too. I find it hard to stay motivated w/ inside workouts only. I have to get outside a few days a week and either run or walk. I agree that in the grand scheme a few missed workouts aren't that big a deal.

Maybe you need the drill sargent routine.

"GET OFF THAT SOFA!!! It's time for PT. Your momma didn't raise no wuss!!!! You don't want to go soft. What type of "stepper" are you?!!! Drop down and give me twenty!!!"

I bet you're motivated now.

Yikes...better listen to Dave!!!

Yes, I have felt like this recently especially with the weather turning a little cooler. I think everyone has given you good advice (even Dave). I've been going to a fitness boot camp for about a year and just recently I hated to go. I mean how many times can you flip a tire and drag a fire hose so I'm taking a break from it. I'm really excited to be able to design my own rotation and work on building some muscle. I would give your body a little rest and then find a new workout or something that really excites you. You'll be back in the groove in no time at all!
