I need help choosing a DVD player

I ordered the Intensity Series (and all other Cathe except Classics and CTX) on DVD. The Intensity series is coming today. Yes!!!!!

I ambitiously ordered these DVDs, as well as some CIAs and Firms, as my incentive to buy a DVD player. Now that Cathe's new series is arriving, I HAVE to get the DVD player now!! Ideally, I'll pick it up on my way home from work, and do IMAX2 tomorrow morning. :p

Which DVD player should I get? I will spend up to $200. I've thought about getting the multi-disc player so that I'll be able to mix and match workouts. Does anyone have one of these? Someone said on another post that some players are hard to program. Can you tell which one that is, so I'll be sure not to get it. Thanks!!!!!

Hi Lisa,

I don't know how much help I'll be because I only have a singe disc DVD player. It's a Pioneer and it works great.

I believe I have heard that Sony makes a good multi-disc player that is easy to program. It seems that when you go to purchase one, the salespeople know nothing about them. You can do a search on line for a particular model and people will list reviews about the pros and cons of the player. I think I just typed in DVD players in search the web and came it came up with several. Hope this was of some help to you!!

Mojolisa,
If you check over on the Open Discussion forum there's a thread there on DVD players and which ones are multi-disc programmable and whatnot.
Hope this helps

I tried a toshiba 5 disc changer and found it frustratingly slow in going from disc to disc. So I returned it and bought the $79 single disc player at Best Buy. I like being able to pop different discs in and out quickly-its faster than waiting for the changer and it's one less moving part to break in your player. Also I like to change my workout as I go-sometimes I get more energy and decide to add another segment of something-so I don't like to pre-program my workout.

I have Sony DVP615 5 disc programmable player, it's easy to use and you can create your own workouts just by pushing few buttons and it's not complicated at all to do it, I believe crutchfield is having a sale on these players, check it out!

I'm in the same boat as you are, in looking for a DVD player. I see where Sears has the Sony DVP615 on sale for $149.88. That's where I'm headed in the morning. :D I have a printout from the Internet to take with me. Sears says they will match any internet price on the same model. The lowest internet price I could find on this model was $138.88 at Let's Go Digital but that didn't include tax and shipping.

Hope this helps and here's hoping we find our DVD player soon. :D

Ooooooh, you'll be watching those videos by tomorrow, but I'll still be waiting another few days. I'm so jealous!!! }(

I was all set to get the Sony DVP615, but several of my co-workers (all engineers) convinced me that I should get the DVD with the Progressive Scan feature, so being the feature creature that I am, I decided it was worth the extra $$$ and I ordered the DVP655 from Crutchfield.com for $210, including shipping.

I know I'll be really happy with this player once it arrives, and I'll be glad that I got the better picture quality, but, and this is a big but, I have to wait even longer to start the Intensity series. Oh no!!

I'm glad people have already started reviewing the DVDs, at least this way I have something to keep me occupied until my DVD player is up and running.

I also have the same one as Apryl and Laura and LOVE it! Best Buy is also having a sale - same price as Crutchfield - $149. They also offer free shipping!
