I need an ice cream intervention

Confession time: I'm addicted to Ben & Jerry's dublin mudslide and pistachio pistachio. I've also been spending too much time at Carvel lately. Seems like these summer months are just torture on my willpower. If it's not ice cream, it's pina coladas or kahlua and cream. Why is it so hard to be good?? :9

Seriously though....I have "compromised" by getting a kiddie cone of the soft serve but I really need to cut even that down. :p :p
 
On a day like this (90 degrees, 2million% humidity), there's nothing more refreshing than a DQ Blizzard... or Culver's Concrete Mixer... or a 28-oz pina colada... :eek:

Ice water just doesn't have the same effect as ice cream... unfortunately for my waistline. :p
 
Oh Tess, I hear ya!!! My weakness at the moment is the Strawberry gelati at Rita's.... I hear one of those calling me at least once a week! It is sooo hard being strong! ;)
 
Just a suggestion, have you tried the lowfat Ben and Jerry's "Half-Baked?":p Not so much fat and calories but dang this stuff is good! I know, summertime is wonderful with the promise of mimosas with brunch, white wine spritzers with lunch, ice cream in the afternoon, slushees, etc.....:7 It's hard to restrain yourself!:9
 
mmmm...I just had the pistahio pistachio this past weekend. I bought it for DH because he likes pistachio...guess who ate most of it???

My real favorite now is B & J's "Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler." It is so yummy....

..........maybe a quick stop to the grocery store after work is in order.
 
TeTe... Oh my goodness, I've never seen that flavor but it sounds delicious!:9 Is it new? I'm gonna have to look for some now...
 
MMM Peach cobbler does sound good. I also noticed the peanut butter cups yesterday and the dave matthews band brownie one. These are all on my list to try. :)
 
Yeah, it's pretty new. I found out about it on the Colbert Report. Steven Colbert had a flavor named after him, too (AmeriCone Dream) and he had a taste-off with Willie Nelson (with, of course, all the jabs about how there was probably pot in it, etc.).

It is so wonderful...it has such a fresh peach taste. Yeah, I should just go eat a peach (wow, Allman Brothers flashback!), but it tastes so much better with cream and crunchy cobbler crust wrapped around it!!!:9
 
Hey Tess! Since you like Dairy queen, have you tried their FF SF fudge bars?? No seriously, they taste like the real deal! They are 50 calories and pretty darned big... Okay, they are $6.99 for a box of 6, but I personally hide them in the freezer and make the kids eat the Shop Rite Brand. Hey, it's all about me, you know! :9

I am sending you many anti-ice cream vibes. Luckily, there will be no ice cream at sushi tomorrow (and we're not stopping for any!!!). ;)
 
We have a strict rule in our house that nobody can buy any ice cream in the summer...

But we also have a very high-end gourmet ice cream maker and a *very* seasoned ice-cream cookbook. We just made four batches last weekend! :9
