Fitness fun at the factory outlet!

Yesterday, I took a trip to the nearest factory outlet, where I went to buy some kitchen supplies. On my way past the various stores, I decided to stop in the bookstore, and found a fitness-related book that looks really good. It's called "Basic Training" by Jon Giswold. I just paged through it a bit, but it gives some interesting info of workouts, and has lots of eye candy in the form of fine-looking males in skimpy workout shorts (those sexy, IMO, "boxer-briefs").. Of course, Í only find this useful because it shows which muscles are worked with the exercises ;-)

When I got a chance to look at the book a bit more, I noticed more "revealing" photos of full rear nudity (to show the lats and glutes, I'm sure) and some side or front shots that almost show "the package"). There is also a chapter on grooming, hair removal, piercing (with a close-up shot of a pierced nipple...ouch!)

I pretty quickly realized that this is a book primarily intended for men who like to look at other men (some nude rear shots and other rather artistic nudes, sections on piercing and grooming). But that's o.k., since the men that men like to look at are also quite aesthtically appealing to me!

On my way back to the car from the kitchen supply store, I remembered that there was a Reebok factory outlet store, and decided to look at some walking shoes, since I go walking during lunch hour several times a week with one of my colleagues. After finding a pair of non-leather shoes, I tried them on and did an active wear test: running in place (to check shock absorption), leaping from side to side (to check lateral stability), and using the 18" metal bench that's for sitting down on when trying on shoes for step ups (to test stability during that move) (got to be ready for the Blast series, doncha know!) . I was off in a corner by myself, so wasn't too obvious, except, of course when I bobbed up above the racks of shoes while doing the step ups.

I ended up getting three pairs of the same shoes (hard to find nice non-leather shoes, and these had DMX air cushion soles, which felt really nice). I tried them out doing S&H back and chest with added shoulder(which I know doesn't call too much on the shoes, but they looked cool with the outfit I was wearing--they're white with dark blue, and some daisy yellow detailing--and that helped motivate me. Funny how a new pair of shoes can help you do a better bench press!).

Hmmm...given that this was the day after Halloween, maybe these were my "treats"?

RE: I love getting new fitness

Kathryn, you have just inspired me to go to our local Nike factory outlet! I forgot we had it until you mentioned your Reebok one.

I absolutely agree a new pair of shoes can improve a workout! Don't know why, but it makes you feel awfully good about yourself!
