I just scheduled my first....

Full body massage!!!

I am really excited and looking forward to it.

I have to do GS BSB before I go though. I don't think that I will have the motivation to do it after the massage!

This is coming at the perfect time too: I did a four week rotation of 4DS and this week started the GS's again, and I am pretty sore from GS legs yesterday! Bring on the deep tissue massage!!!

Good for you!!! :D I hope you enjoy it! Deep tissue massages are the best - they hurt so good!

I have a full-body massage tomorrow - thank heavens. I try to go once a month, but last month I got sick and had to cancel my appointment. So I'm way overdue for this!

You should definitely schedule one too ;)

I think this is the perfect way to unwind and reward for all the hard work I've been doing lately!

Go ahead...you deserve it too!!! :D

Let us know how you like it, they are just the best, but as a registered massage therapist, I'm completely biased.
Emily hit the nail on the head, it's a TOTAL John Cougar Mellencamp thing ~ Hurts soooo GOOD!:) Enjoy!

I'm curious, what's the going rate for an hour massage where you are?

I'm going to be the lone voice of dissent here. I went for a massage last year. They're covered under my health benefits at work, so I thought I ought to take advantage. I didn't like it at all. Not only did it hurt while she was doing it, it hurt for a few days after. And not a good "I've been massaged" kind of pain. A horrible burning pain that kept me from sleeping.

I like my SO's massages much better.

With all due respect to the therapist who gave you your massage Shelley, it sounds like he/she was not dilligent enough in getting feedback from you be it verbal or non-verbal. I check in with my clients especially when they are face down and constantly watch their breathing. The massage table is for releasing tension, not accumulating it. Too bad your experience was a negative one, wish those benefits were transferable, I'd use 'em up pretty darned quickly;-)

Laurie's right, Shelley... it was your massage therapist who done wrong. Massages should be enjoyable and help you relax. If it doesn't do that for you, then your therapist is doing something wrong. I always go to the same massage therapist - I *heart* her, she knows what I need and knows what kind of pressure to use on me. I have been to other, less-than-stellar massage therapists though. They're not all great - you sometimes have to try a few before you find one that really does the trick for you. Don't give up on massages entirely just because of one bad experience! :)

I completely agree! I go once a month, too -- usually for regular Swedish. Try the hot stone sometime. It is FABULOUS!
