I hate cardio check-in 3/27

Hello Ladies,

I think Michele is still doing her cardio today and did not have time to start the post today.

I could not let the cardiohaters think no one cared today so here is the post.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good Monday so far.

If you guys read any of the posts from this weekend it was just me and Michele, I guess everyone else was out doing cardio???

Now just to clarify, I don't exactly hate cardio, I just look like a big ol' dork doing it and am a total klutz so it makes me hate it! haha!

Ok guys got to run...I finally got some sleep last night DD slept all the way from 9:30-7:30 this morning with only 1 request for a diaper change at 4:30 am, went right back to sleep afterwards.
So, with that said I have some energy and must finish packing up the house before the big move!

Send Michele and her MIL and DH some good vibes..

Have a great Cardio Monday
Jana

Hi Jana -

I already posted on Sunday's post, but I will re-post on this new thread you created. Glad to see that you finally got some sleep.

Today was a 30 min run/walk and it felt pretty good. I am glad to see that my cardio capacity is improving, as I moved from 5 min run/2.5 min walk to 7 min run/3 min walk today without any problem. I am still not going as fast as I want (about a 11 min mile pace) but I read that you shouldn't worry about speed when you are a beginning runner and I will work on speed once I am able to run 3 miles easily. I definitely feel like I am improving and running is not as hard as it was in the beginning.

Any other cardio haters out there?

I also posted on yesterday's thread.

I went for a walk during my lunch. It is so nice out I could've kept on going.

Jana I'm glad your little one slept for you last night.

Diane, keep up the good work with your running.

Have a great day all!

Hey ladies,

Diane-Great job with the running! I can't wait to get back on my treadmill, would love to go run in the park but hate the allergies right now. Still waiting for winter....oh wait I forgot no winter in Texas on Summer and mid-summer...oh the heat and humidity how I can't wait...back on the running subject (sorry had to get on the weather soapbox) you are right it is not about speed, it is about endurance. Speed will come in time and endurance will also kick in quick. I was never fast, but I could run 4-5 miles no problem and that really help shape my legs. You will be running the marathon before you know it!

Dana- I am sure you can relate to the no sleep thing......uuhhhhh.....uuuuhhhhhh.....it sucked big time, but better now. So awesome you got to go for a walk at lunch, how fun! I went walking with the DD on Sat and Sun I am only good for about 45 minutes before the allergies kick in, but oh fresh polluted air is always better than being inside! :*
I saw on your clean eating post you are having a fun food day for only 25 points WW assume (?).

That's all for now folks back to packing. Will someone please come over and pack my house up for me? Did I forget to mention I am moving from the Urban area of near Downtown to the burbs......this should be interesting. Never lived in the burbs before, I think I am scared!

What part of Houston are you moving to? I'm on the west side of downtown right outside the loop.

OMG we are going from our tiny place in Timbergrove (TC Jester & 18th) to...are you ready.....uuuuuhhhhhhh....freggin KATY (Cinco Ranch)!!!
I somehow lost the battle on the "where are we going to live".
But, we got a really nice, big, 4 year old house for a good price, but still it's freggin Katy.

Katy is so nice though. We will eventually move out to the burbs when we have kids because the school systems are 10x better and you can get so much more for your money. I would love to live out in the Woodlands eventually. It is so nice out there. Unfortunately, both of us work downtown and it would be over an hour commute.

It is a nice place and they are really nutty about the neighborhood being perfect, which as you are aware it is so not the case living in town! I mean I am going to miss the all the colorful tagging on the street signs and yes I will miss the police sirens all the time and oh yeah that darn train at 3 am (just kidding about that), but we have a little one to think of now. The commute is going to be nuts, hello Westpark tollway for the hubby and I am sure when I go back to work it will be Galleria or Downtown so that should be fun..uuhhhh...I hate traffic.
My BF lives on the Woodlands and it is really nice out there, that is what I picked but DH picked Katy and he won so Katy it is.
Good part is my Mom lives near Memorial park so when I want to go running she will watch DD for me so I will still be able to enjoy being urban!

I'm soooo glad to see this thread today. I was going to start it this morning but I didn't have time.

I've been at the hospital since early this morning and just returned home for a short break. I'm heading back to my FIL's house at 5:00 to prepare his dinner and take him to see my MIL. I don't mind telling you that I am pooped. I'll probably sleep like a baby tonight.

My MIL came through her heart cath with flying colors. They decided that she didn't have a heart attack after all, but she instead has a cardiomyopathy. There's more than one type and I'm not sure which one she has, but they don't know why she has it. Anyway, her heart is not pumping adequately which caused her to go into failure. She's doing much better now and will probably go home Wednesday. She'll need to take it easy for several weeks at least. The doctor has not yet told her what, if any, limitations she will have after that.

I have not done cardio today and I may not get to it--I'm pretty tired. I did a 30 min work out yesterday, though. My lunch consisted of water and a handful of those little, foil wrapped Reese's PB eggs:9. There goes that 2 pounds I lost last week;(

I can't thank you guys enough for your prayers and well wishes. It means a lot to me and my family. :) :+

As far as starting this daily thread is concerned, I say first come, first serve!

Michele

I am trespassing into this thread just to say Michele, I'm glad to hear your MIL is doing better. You must be exhausted. Even as someone who loves cardio I would say, DON'T get to your cardio today, just take it easy :)

Yeah! So glad to hear MIL is doing well, yeah, yeah yeah!!!

Don't worry, you are the true cardiohater, I just started it for you to make sure the cardiohaters were alive! They had a busy cardio weekend! I was just the sub for the day.

Keep us update on MIL and really glad to hear she is doing good!

Michele - Sounds like good news about your MIL. Don't worry about cardio right now. You need rest and time with family!

Michele...so glad to hear abi\out MIL! Hope she's feeling better.

Due to feeling extremely tired and crampy.. I did no cardio Sat or Sun. I'd like to do some today, but I'm feeling kind of down/blue today so I have to get myself psyched up to do something later.

:)

Hi Ellen - one of the best things for me to do when I am down is to get outside and just take a walk. Though not the most intense cardio, it just helps to get some fresh air and be outside.
