I got the look

Yesterday afternoon at the bank, as I walked toward my car, I got "the look" from a guy. You know, he looks, turns away, turns back and looks longer, turns away, and (yes, a triple take)turns yet again. I'm not drop dead gorgeous, but I'm not real goofy looking either. I checked and had all my clothes on, so I think I really did catch his eye. Not that I was interested, but I was very flattered. Just made me feel a little bit better about myself, you know?

LOL robin i have been getting the same thing. even the manager of our apartment will slow down when i am running. well they are men and they will look. its nice to have a man stop almost dead in his tracks when they see you coming isn't it?almost like having power without trying.

I remember when that used to drive me nuts when a guy would stare at me. Now, being a mother of 3 I love it when someone checks me out. I just wish the younger ones would, but I will take what I can get.

You guys wait til your 50 and get "the look" from someone half your age. Now, that's a rush I tell ya! :)

Well, I am 50, but this guy was probably close to my age. I haven't turned any kids heads yet. Maybe I'll start hanging out at the college my DH teaches at! LOL

The first thing I think of if I get "the Look" is

" Did I tuck my underwear in my pantyhose?":*

YOU GO GIRL!!!! Strut a little! *Shines spot light on Robin so she can strut properly* I think it's great!!

The spin teacher at my gym is 54, and I about fell over when I heard that. I literally thought she was in her late 20's. She is gorgeous, so us older folks can still be HOT!!!

And thanks for the laugh this morning "I checked and had all my clothes on..." That's the first thing I would have done!

You know, this reminds me of my mom. I hated going anywhere with her because men would always stare at her. When we go out now we get special treatment if there is a man waiting on us. She has had four kids and she is a grandma!!! She is absolutely amazing.

SingingGoddess, I agree with you! I used to get mad when someone looked, but now that I have had three kids I love it! I just don't like the comments.

The other day my son told me that all his friends at school think I am really pretty - that gave me such a huge smile. Although he said it as if it was a surprise to him... hehe... although they tell me all the time I am pretty and are good at correcting me if I call myself fat - hmmm - they must want something - hehe....

Robin, were you doing your swooshing action and cape flinging with elan?;-) I just LOVE that mental picture I have of you.:) He was most probably blinded by your buffness.

Pinky

You're NOT fat!!!!!!!!!!! Goofball!;-)

IF I get the look, I am sure I have one of the kids lollipops stuck in my hair, peanut butter smeared on my leg and a fabric softner sheet stuck to my sleeve...hey, it's better than a sock!

CONGRATULATIONS at making the guys eyes pop! Sounds like he needed a cold shower!:7

Well Pinky, I had taken off my cape and put on my really HOT red leather jacket. I'm not fibbing about this. DH bought for me a couple weeks ago and I could not wait for it to get cool enough to wear it. Maybe the guy just liked the leather. But I'm glad you all can relate to the good feelings it give an old lady.

"lollipops stuck in my hair, peanut butter smeared on my leg and a fabric softner sheet stuck to my sleeve"

just call it another lovely day LOL.

Leather drives guys nuts. I wore a pair of leather pants once to work in the winter and I got all kinds of attention. Needless to say, I'm not wearing them to work again because I started feeling uncomfortable. They weren't tight or anything, just regular fitting pants made of leather. Sheesh! :)

I don't know what's the big deal. They wear leather in Europe alot.

Good for you, and I do think it raises your confidence. I am a middleaged mom of two teenagers, so I am extremely flattered if a younger man looks at me.

I think it is all the exercise that keeps us "older" ladies looking good. In a way, age doesn't matter that much.
