I get to work from home!

This is just wonderful news for me. Two days a week I'll get to work from home, and come into the office on the other three. Folks, that'll save me easily $100 in gas a month (very long commute) and give me FOUR whole extra hours a week. I feel like stopping people on the sidewalk to tell them, so of course I had to post it here.

Hi, Angie -
I'm a medical writer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Some of my work involves going to interview docs, etc., so I have to be on campus for that. But once I get the material, all I need is a word processor and email access.

Shannon-

What great news!! I'm just the opposite- I gave up a job that had me working from home and now go into an office 4 days a week! It's a great learning experience (law student now and clerking at a firm) but it really sucks to have to put on real clothes. :D

Congrats and enjoy!!

That's great!!

I work part time and most of it is from home. For me, it raises other issues such as having the refidgerator about 10 paces from my computer! One of the positive things is that I can be much more flexible with my workouts.

Amy - I am looking forward very much to wearing warmups all day!

Elaine - believe me, the first thing I thought of was, "more workout time!!!"

That is exciting! Not having to get all decked out to go to work or sit and wait in traffic to get there is pretty good in itself, along with sleeping in if you want, working out when you want, you have more control over your time.... that is awesome!

That is so terrific! I think job flexibility must make for happier, more productive employees. And I can understand how those 4 hours feel like a real gift (not to mention the $$$). Enjoy!!

Shannon.. great news!!! I work at home too, medical transcriptionist, and have since 1997. I love it. Two things I learned you need to buy more of when you work at home.... coffee and toilet paper.:+
