I finally took a "before" picture!

I was poking around in "Success Stories" and finally got the last kick of inspiration I needed, to begin taking pictures of myself so I can see progress. (Thanks win1jam and one_buff_mom!)

I'll use this quote from one-buff-mom's success story to describe my condition: "Last year, my life was very busy and not conducive to consistent workouts. This, combined with poor eating habits and aging (!) was re-shaping my body into a form I did not want it to take!"

I could've written that! :7 Also, I have two small children.

So I'm planning to take monthly pictures. I asked hubby to help me. After giving him a minute to laugh (ha ha!), I put on my tankini (rolled it up to show the abs) and he took some pictures. After taking the pictures he said he understood what I meant, how these pics could be motivational and interesting over time.

I haven't even seen the pics yet--yikes, kinda don't really want to. Maybe I'll look next month! ;-)

RE: I finally took a

I feel your pain.x( I didn't want to take before pics either before I did P90X, but I got my 12yo DS to snap the shots in a 2-piece bathing suit (that I wouldn't dare wear in public). I printed out the pics on the computer and WHAM!!....it was like a big kick in the head. I had no idea how large my back side had become. I was certainly in denial, but not after seeing those pics! It has provided me with the motivation to bump up my exercising to 6 days per week and also to drop 22 pounds. It has also given me the power to eat more clean and watch my portions.

Now I am addicted to my muscle definition and I just can't get over the fact that I see muscle in the mirror when I take my shirt off. I'm not done yet, but I can certainly see the differences in my photos. :) Soon, maybe I'll even feel confident enough to wear that 2-piece in public.

I knew I had some weight to lose, but I was OK with it (thinking it's not that bad) until I looked at those pictures. I honestly don't know of anything else that could motivate me as much as those pics did. :D

And....I've been putting off my workout all day, and thinking about those photos has just given me the inspiration to shut off the laptop and get to it. Off to workout.....:)

RE: I finally took a

Yeah Angie--I had the WHAM!!! moment too. (I looked at the pics) Didn't know how wide and thick I'd become. Oh boy. Also, in the pictures I didn't attempt to suck in my gut, I just let it relax. Scary stuff.

But yes, the truth is certainly refreshing. It's like "okay, now I have something to work with!" Before looking at the pics, like you, I knew I was bigger but was actually in a great deal of denial.
