I did it!

Y'all are going to have to bear with me. No one else understands how proud I am of myself! :)

I finally realized that for me diet is 90 percent of the solution. So, for the past two months I have been writing down what I eat, keeping to a certain number of calories. I have also upped the weight training (upper body twice a week, lower 4-5 times alternating standing days with floorwork) while cutting cardio to three times a week (two step vids and IMAX). I also took weekends completely off. I had been doing a strength rotation, but now I'm doing endurance.

And drum roll please, I am back into my thin clothes (the ones that got me depressed to begin with) and about five pounds away from what I consider my ideal weight. I measured and realized I lost two inches on my hips. I still have a ways to go to get rid of my surgery belly :) but I am starting to see some very nice changes in my body.

I always remember what Cathe says: "Don't be afraid of using heavy weights. They do nice things for you."

Nice Job! Yeah, heavy weights are nothing to be afraid of...they sure always worked for me. Cardio never did a thing to reshape anything for me.
 
Hey Rose! Nice job! Me, I have been overweight since the age of 12...and no cardio ever did for me what lifting has done. I am 38 and wearing a size 4....I do not think I was a size 4 when I was 4!! Cathe is certainly right about the nice things, I really love when she says that....take care, Donna.

Did you catch the topic a while back about slogans on Cathe tshirts? I think you found a good one - "Don't be afraid of heavy weights...they do nice things for you". Sounds like a great tshirt to me!
