I cannot believe I did this

Just had to share - am I stupid? My 8-y.o. daughter is on a junior drill team that marches in parades and performs at various places. She's done it since age 5. 50 girls ages k-6th grade, and they love it. The coach does a wonderful job, but has been battling Crohn's disease and needs to get her health together, so she has to give it up. Tomorrow is the registration deadline for next year and there were no replacements for the coach - so they were going to disban the whole program! So I volunteered to take over the whole program. OMG - I can't believe I just did this. What am I getting myself into? Do it for the kids right? Ugh!

Lorrie:

Congratulations! You have certainly found a new outlet to explore! And the best part is...you will have some great experiences with your beautiful daughter! She will remember how much you took an interest in her activities...enjoy it...it will only last so long! ;)

Lorrie -
It seems so overwhelming right now, but I'm certian in no time you'll be hitting your stride and doing a great job. I'm sure the previous coash would be happy to help you with any questions or concerns you have. It always helps to have an experienced mentor to turn to. Do it for the kids, and do it for you too.

I'm sure you'll do fine! I would not trade places with you on this one for all the $$ in the world, but I'm glad you stepped up!

My grand daughter, 10 yrs. old, takes baton and marches in parades, too.

The good news is you will no longer have to worry about what to do in your free time!! I think it is great that you have stepped up so this program keeps going.

Ugh - thanks for the reassurances ladies! Good news is that my 5-y.o. daughter, who is usually very shy and completely unlike her older sister, has decided to do this program too since mommy is coaching. Maybe it will bring her out of her shell a bit more. I'm still in shock that I'm going to take this on. Oh well - nothing ventured, nothing gained right? :)

Lorrie!! Good for you! No words of wisdom, but I think it's a wonderful thing you're doing. Let us know how it works out!! Who knows, you may just really enjoy this.

Lorrie-You are most certainly not stupid. I think you are wonderful. Volunteering to help our communities youth is never never stupid. However, do remember to buy a larger bottle of tylenol next time your out..;-)
