As for knee-friendliness of the workouts, again, I'd consult with your PT about specific moves that might not work for you (ask about squats, lunges (forward, static, backward) and step-ups). I can only speak from my own experience regarding what may or may not be hard on knees. I have a sensitive knee, and while I find Cathe step tapes hard on it (especially the speed and some torquey moves), I generally don't have problems with the strength work.
I do usually substitute static lunges (with or without the front foot on a 4-8 inch platform) for forward lunges. I found Slow and Heavy lunges to be too stressful for my knee (the knee under tension for too long).
I recommend getting a workout like MIS to start and see how it works for you. If certain moves don't work, you can come back and ask others for recommendations for substitutions. The nice thing about weight workouts is that if something doesn't suit you, there are usually several alternatives you can try.
