I am so off track

Well Last weekend my first daughter got strep throat, mid week my other daughter got it and last night took my liitle guy and he has it I have been planting a garden, opening my pool and helping my sister do her landscaping I am one exhausted gal I have not even been able to fit a workout in. Now it was 80's yesterday and again today. We are going to my sisters for a BBQ and tomorrow my mom's Back to school Tuesday and the countdown begins only 9 more days left. Do any of you just take the summer off? I think I just might and just exercise on rain days.

I have never taken the summer off. There's no way I think I would get back into things after so long off. I have taken a week or two off and it's hard enough then to get back into my routine, but I do. Of course if you are doing other active things that may be helpful. Everyone is different. I am sure there are those who could take a few months off and get back into it. Just not me!!

Beth,
If it's "weight" you're concerned about, being super busy can sometimes be even more effective than exercise. Whatever your concerns, I can make you feel better: I can count on two hands how many times I've worked out in 2006. Now do you feel better? :p :+

Hi Ann Marie! That's a recent picture of me, actually. I haven't been working out, so I don't look so good. :+

Actually, I love my Mama Moose. It's a pic I took on my Alaskan cruise last summer. The tour guide said that the Mama Moose was eating the nutritious stuff from the bottom of the lake in order to produce milk to feed her new babies. I thought she was so ugly, she was cute. I think of her as maternal and nurturing.

LOL, Nancy! I'm sure that you look great!

I like the picture of the moose! Just thought it was funny from a Brooklyn gal. I grew up in Astoria, and did my residency in Brooklyn.I always like to read your posts!
Ann Marie:) :)

Beth,
Beyond caring for sick children, opening a pool, gardening, and doing landscaping is a lot of physical activity, so I wouldn't get too frustrated with yourself. It's not like you were on the couch all this time.

Juggling everything that we do is not easy. I haven't been doing regimented rotations, but what has worked for me was just looking at the week ahead on my calendar and then mentally figuring out when I'd work out. I think if you're a busy person with a varying schedule, scheduling your workouts that way might be the best way for keeping yourself on track.

Nancy, I am terribly busy through the summer we are doing something every day except rain days so I am not concerned with gaining weight its more the muscle I have built. Not to mention I do not have air conditioning, although, I live in Michigan. Getting on track wouldn't be a problem because I love Cathe's workouts so it would feel like coming home after a vacation. My sister and I both have swimming pools so we are going to check out some water aerobic exercises. Thank you for your reply

Catherine. Thank You for the reply. I wouldn't have a hard time getting back into it I am afraid of losing the muscle and the flab coming back. I am going to watch what I eat and try to get some exercise in.
