Hurricane Gustav

Oh no, I knew what you meant. Just if I were in a hurricane I might need a nice stout six pack or two to keep me wits about me!

I pray that all those affected by this storm get through it safe and sound! Please check in when it is safe to do so and let us know you are OK.

I'll never forget the time my FIL was in Fort Myers during a hurricane and he spent the entire time in the bathtub with a bottle of Merlot. Luckily, he was fine and the only damage was the torn screens around the lanai and a red wine headache ;)

Lots of tornados everywhere, but nothing really bad.

TONS of rain and it's still raining, but all in all, we made out very well... heck, the cats didn't even get upset or freaky!!!

Sorry I'm so late on the update, I finally fell asleep yesterday afternoon (after getting off of work) and slept straight through until now!)

I hope the levy's hold up for New Orleans.
My sister's church group traveled to New Orlean's last spring to help with the clean up. I was shocked to find out they are STILL cleaning up Katrina.
She had some interesting stories to tell. It's very sad how much these people have endured for so long.

:D LOL!! Fortunately Ft. Myers area seems to be pretty safe from hurricanes in general. I think those who live in hurricane prone area should keep a suitcase and a hang glider ready, it looks like a busy season. Hang in there!

Anyone else out there in the path of Gustav? It doesn't appear to have been quite as bad as it could have been from watching it on the news but I'd rather hear that from someone who lives there!!

Meanwhile, we east coasters are awaiting Hanna and Ike. We learned years ago about putting together hurricane supplies and we have a generator which we've only had to use once, fortunately.

And we have plenty of wine and beer. :D

Lower Al here .. we got wind and some bands but nothing bad .. thank goodness .. b/c Faye did a number on us here ..

We have friends in LA Plaquemines Parish that evacuated Sat .. they had reserved rooms till this coming Sunday .. w/Katrina they were not able to go in for over a month to where their houses were .. I saw a peice on the net that did show everything flooded down there .. praying for the best for them .. we are gonna try to call them tommorrow!

Now we are keeping our eye on Hannah .. then Ike is close behind .. YIKES .. busy ..busy .. busy!!!

Hope everyone finds everything ok when you return home!! Prayers and thoughts are with you!!
