How's the Terminator DVD?

After reading the thread on cardio kicks, I have decided that I must get it. I never thought I would enjoy kickboxing but I find that I love KPC, so I am really excited to get cardio kicks. Since I am going to be ordering again, I think I should economize on postage and get another selection (love those rationalizations). I have most of Cathe's work-out already and I am by no means bored with what I have, but I hate to feel like I'm missing something that I would just love. I have the intensity and body blast series, plus several older step workouts as well as the power hour DVD.

It occurs to me that I haven't read too many reviews about Viper, Gauntlet, IMAX extreme on the Terminator DVD. Do people love these and find them kick butt like boot camp, Imax I and II, or MIC? And what about the X-train Xpress series? I have been a bit put off by the price but do people find they use that one alot when they have so many work-outs to chose from. I am a pretty tough old boot and I like to sweat and get my heart rate up there. Though I find between boot camp and the IMAX II DVD, I am really challenged with the interval workouts and probably will be working up to those for several months.

Should I get these other workouts (Terminator and X-train Express (I think that's what it's called the one with 5 work-outs including 10-10-10) even if I am not bored with what I have? Money isn't really an issue, though I don't have it to burn. The question is more, am I missing alot by not having these as part of my collection.

Sorry for such a long explanation of all that. I appreciate your comments.

Hi Linda!

Based on what you posted, I think you'd love the Terminator DVD. I'd had the Intensity Series since they came out (and loved 'em) but didn't get the Terminator until about 2 or 3 months ago. I've done the Viper and the Gauntlet (haven't done IMAX Extreme yet) and love 'em both...but I especially like the Gauntlet...it's like BC with some step thrown in (from IMAX2), which I love! After I finish, I tack on BC Core Only and I definitely feel worked out, let me tell ya! :) The Viper's got some ME weight work, and some IMAX 2 and C&W step work...from what I gather (since I haven't done it yet), IMAX Extreme is pretty much IMAX2 and C&W step together with some C&W weight work thrown in! Anyway, I think you should go for it! I'm so glad I ordered it! :)

I find the Terminators to be the absolute toughest workouts, even more so than Boot Camp or IMax2 as well as CTX. They take the hardest elements from other workouts and combine them. They totally kick my butt and they are longer workouts than most of her others....I did IMax Extreme today and it was over an hour. My whole body got worked, I don't think I could do another circuit, and by the time she was doing the plie jacks at the end, I could hardly do them...I was just totally worn out!

I think the CTX are great because I do a decent cardio workout and then really work one body part to exhaustion. 30 minutes or so of cardio is very doable for me, but I still feel like I get a great workout. Plus cardio isn't my favorite so I always feel like I've done something good for myself when I get it in.

Hope that helps.

I love the Terminator, it is so hard! I think the Viper was 80 minutes long. When you're finished with this one, you are finished for the day!;-)

Can't go wrong with either. Terminator is awesome and totally kicks butt. Perfect for a killer day when you want to go all out. CTX is also a staple in my workouts. I try to work them in every few months for 4-6 weeks because they are so good, thorough and fun. I say go for both, you won't regret it. And your mix and match options will be endless.

Have fun!

Another vote for Terminator. My personal fave is "Gauntlet", because it's the only one of the three on this DVD that incorporates Boot Camp cardio cycles. The fusion of I-Max 2 interval blasts with Boot Camp cardio blasts is awesome. The first cycle or two build up rather innocuously, and then all of a sudden you realize you're sweating gallons and on a fun fire.

AND - you have GOT to get the Cross-Train Express series, on DVD! Although this 2-disc set is not chaptered or premixed nearly as finely as The Intensity Series, it just can't be beat for cardio options OR strength training options. Plus, is has some to-die-for ab routines as well, something that Terminator does not.

Be my guest, be my guest, spend your dough like all the rest . . .
