How will you use the Butts and Guts workout?

I read the blog on the Butts and Guts workout and that it's 90 minutes long which is amazing. I'm wondering, though, how do you all plan on working that into your current routine or rotations? It seems like something you would use as an add-on to a regular rotation since "butts" doesn't cover legs completely. Maybe the 90 minutes part is what's bogging me down. I guess you could use just the ab portion for your ab workout and the butts portion as an add-on to a leg day? Any thoughts? Trying to decide whether to pre-order.

I won't know for sure how I'll use this workout until I actually preview it, but my legs are pretty muscular and don't need much work. My butt, on the other hand, could use all the help it can get! I'll probably do this workout twice a week and see how my legs fare with just lots of kickboxing and treadmill intervals. I hate ab work, and I hope it's broken down so the ab work is separate.

I'll be interested to see how the premixes are done, because with most of my Cathe workouts, I usually just do the premixes.

Hi Sophiem,

I think of this as core work, but with the butt included. So until I review it as well, I would use it like core and butt work. Long Add on for sure, but very needed in my case.

I would pre-order if I were you. Cathe's workouts are so phenomenal. Trust me, you will work it in your rotations.

From what I understood after reading the blog, there is 90 min of total footage, including the bonus footage. I don't think the main workout is 90 min. I'm really looking forward to this one!

I'll use it w/ a very soft pillow after I'm done ;)

I agree with Sooooooosan - the workout itself isn't 90 min. long, the workout footage - including the bonus stuff - is 90 min. in length. I'm guessing the workout - with warm up and stretch is probably 70 min.

I think I'll probably use it one time per week and then work my legs one other time that week.

Maybe do Gym Style legs on a Monday and then Butts and Guts on Friday and then fill out the rest of the week with upper body and cardio. That was just my thought right now before I've seen it.

The 90 minutes includes the bonus 'abs with ball' workout, so the 'butts and guts' portion would be around an hour.

I'd have to see the workout to know exactly how I'm going to use it, but I think I would use it whenever I feel a need for a 'butt boost,' or as a second lower body workout during the week, like when doing a 3-day split, maybe something like this:

day 1> upper body workout 1
day 2> lower body workout 1
day 3> cardio
day 4> upper body workout 2 (second half of upper body)
day 5> butts and guts
day 6> cardio
day 7> off stretch

And there will probably be some shorter premixes that can be used as add-ons.

Thanks for all the input, that totally makes sense. I think I'll just go ahead and pre-order everything. All her stuff is great, so what the heck.

I bet it will fry the whole upper leg by the looks of the breakdown she posted on the Blog. (Even though I read it is more "butt" specific). Squats, walking lunges, deadlifts, floor work....what more can a girl ask?? Good thing I am on my feet all day, because if I sit down after this one, I probably would have to stay there......

IF you can sit down!}(

Maybe Cathe will have to start selling Cathe logo padded seat cushions?

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think would need to be added to Butts and Gutts to make it a full leg workout? From the blog breakdown, it looks like it's got a lot of leg work, not just butt-specific work. I was thinking to use this one the same way I would use Legs & Glutes. Please help me figure out what I'm missing.

Thanks,
Shelbygirl

Shelbygirl,
I was thinking the same thing- use this as a legs and abs day. I also thought there was enough leg work in here to be a leg and butts workout. I guess we will just have to wait and see.:)
Easier said than done.
