Hi Cathe

I really want to start doing yoga but I have no clue about how to include it in my rotation. As you recommended I do 4 cardio days and 2 weight days (to lose weight). How could I fit yoga in and for what length of time. How do you fit it in?

Thanks

yoga...

Cathe's pretty busy, so I thought I'd share my routine.

I also do cardio 3-4x's a week and weights 2x's. I usually do yoga after a tough cardio workout. Running and spinning really make my legs tight, so yoga is a good way to stretch them out and relax. The muscles are already warmed up so you can stretch more (although if your muscles are REALLY tight, you may find you're not as flexible). I also like to do yoga the day after a weight workout since the muscles are sore or tight.

You can do yoga on an off day too, but I usually don't do this since you should warm-up a lot beforehand. Some people like to do it on an off day though and just relax. You don't need to do yoga everyday to benefit. Just try for a few sessions a week, even if it's just for 10 mins.

These were my workouts last week:
S-Interval Max
M-off
T-Power Hour (weights)
W-Spinning, yoga
Th-off
F-Running, yoga
Sat-weights

RE: yoga...

I love to do my yoga in the evenings:)! I do cardio 5 days a week and weights four days a week. I try to do yoga everynight, but that doesn't usually happen. Yoga Zone tape are great for this, because alot of them consist of 2 20min routines. So for me that's two days worth:)! Also I don't know if you recieve it or not, but the oxygen channel has a yoga show on called Inhale and while I don't get it here a friend here on the forum taped me some and sent them to me. I like that show's style alot too. But the workouts are tougher and longer. Ok, just a suggestion, but I'd say start with Yoga Zone. Great beginner tapes!!
