How much do you tip your stylist?

Oh my gosh Nancy! You just made me feel better. I can't believe you pay that much. But you DO look beautiful!

I did just find out that his cuts are $60 and color is $85 (as I mentioned). That is a little high for this area. But I do agree with everyone that if the service is good, you should tip well. Around here I always think if they charge a lot they must be good. Hehehe.

Oh wow Nancy,
Where in New York do you live?
I only charge a whoppin 16 bucks for ladies 12 for men.People complain about that. And Sr's pay less.
Basic color is 32 + cut. Foils are more 75.
I live in a more depressed area.But, at least i am really buisy,and most of my customers are like family and friends.
I have a really nice family salon and I will guarantee My cuts and color are great. I have seen alot of bad in my day. Maybe you need to look around and word of mouth to find someone a little less pricey.
Of course if you are in Manhattan they are paying probably 10 grand in rent.
Wow,I am shocked.I have to go with the area, and i am comfortable with what i make. I also work 10 hrs a day 6 days a week.
I also love my customers. They are not stuffy, except for a few old ladies.
Waht i am saying is your good customers you come in eary for, stay late and do that little extra for.They appreciat you and you appreciate them.

It's not as bad as it sounds for me. Before I started going to Arrojo, I kept my hair short because it was too coarse, thick and curly to manage. So I had to go to the salon every 5 weeks. When I started going to Arrojo, I finally learned for the first time in my life that I didn't have to wear my hair very short anymore. So I only go to the salon, get this, 4 times per year. So even though it's expensive, in the long run it doesn't turn out to be that much more per year than the haircuts I used to get in the neighborhood.
