How many meals a day???

Cathe,

Can you give me some input on "clean eating"? I know this is what's tripping my efforts up, but I feel I'm lacking some information. I was wondering if you could tell me what you typically eat in a day to stay so lean. Do you eat three meals plus "snacks"? Or do you eat several small "meals"? Is there any special things you do to plan your meals? Also, do you use any supplements or fat burners?

I switched from 3 meals + 3 snacks to more evenly distributed mini meals. Seems to be assisting in leaning me out + keeping blood sugar stable all day. I also love not feeling stuffed after dinner. I eat every 2-2.5 hours so sometimes its 5 mini meals sometimes 6.
250-300 cals per mini meal:7

That's what I do as well. 3 small meals, about 340-360 per meal, every 2-3 hours. Each consists of a lean protein, complex carb, fiberous carb or simple carb. Items on my weekly grocery list include: chicken breasts, salmon, flank steak, albacore tuna, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat pitas, ww tortillas, brown rice, yams, potatoes, and tons of fruit and veggies. And low fat items like cottage cheese, skim milk, reduced fat or low fat cheese, sour cream, yogurt, etc.

Eating every few hours really is a great way to stablize the blood sugar. I was skeptical about it, but once I did it, I felt so much better. I don't have the severe hunger pangs (eating clean does make me very hungry tho), headaches or moodiness.

Hi Reese! If you want an example of a typical day's eating for me, please go to the thread entitled "What does clean eating mean to you?" I have my meals posted there. You might have to do a search. I don't know how far back it is. HTH, Kathy:D

I sort of eat what I want, when I want. No fat burners or other gimmicks. It's a simple matter of consuming fewer calories than you use in order to lose fat.

There's no real secret to it. You may have to be diligent about counting calories to get an idea of how much your consuming and using.
