How long does your shampoo last?

I know this sounds crazy, but after today I had to ask this question. I went to my SIL house to visit for a while. Her daugter told her she needed more shampoo. My SIL ask her why she was out so soon. Well getting to the point, my SIL said that one bottle of shampoo will last her for a year. I could not believe it. I kept saying for a whole year!for a whole year! I think she kinda of got a tad mad over it. Cause when her daughter ask me, I told her about a month. And my SIL of course started saying the things I said to her. She is wound up a little too tight! No humor! Well that is another thread, but is that wild or what?

Just wanted to hear from you ladies and maybe find out whether or not I'm crazy!

How long does yours last!!!

How big of shampoo bottles is this woman buying????!!!! A YEAR??? Maybe if she's buying the super-economy sized bottles... Or she's one of those people who dilutes it with water.

I have super-short hair, so there ain't much to wash - and I go through a bottle of shampoo every 2-3 months or so. When I had longer hair, it was more like every 1-2 months. We have softened water, so I don't have to use very much either. There's no way I could stretch a bottle of shampoo for a year!

She is using the regular sized bottle of Redken. I couldn't believe it! I think I insulted her, but I just couldn't believe it. She says she uses a dime size amount when she shampoos. she has short thick hair, so how in the he!! is she doing it. She is always someone who tries to make things stretch out. For instance, her protein calls for one scoop, and she uses half that scoop. She tried to tell me she doesn't but I've seen it. Why does she even drink it? I mean she uses hardly none. Just to make something last.

I could not make a bottle last a year if my life depended on it!

Kim that's an incredibly long time. There are 4 Girls in my household and I'm lucky if a regular sized bottle lasts us more than 3 weeks. I don't mind too much, I buy the cheaper shampoos but I don't skrimp on conditioner.:)

I have some pretty tight wound SILs too but as you said, that's another thread:p :+

Wow! That's a LONG time to make a small bottle of shampoo last.

I share mine with the hubby. A 24 oz. bottle would last us about a month, maybe a little over a month. I've always had long hair, and I need more than a dime-sized amount. Before the road trip, I had 4 inches taken off my hair, so I use less shampoo now -- I still don't expect hubby and me to make our regular bottle last more than 2 months. I work out almost every day. That's a lot of sweat in my hair!:)

Wow that is a really long time, what does she use a pin drop worth a shampoo? Even in the super economy size, that I had was 64 oz, it lasted a whole semester, and that was with it being barrowed a few times. When I lived up in the dorms, and had the good old life. I hated that bottle, but it made a great weight most of the time to hold down the shower curtain, so it didn't blow out and let everyone see you showering, when someone came in threw the main bathroom door.

The only time I've ever heard of shampoo lasting that long was with someone who didn't shampoo all that often they'd wet their hair, but no shampoo. A few girls at the dorm did that as well, and they always smelled like a wet dog when they walked out of the shower area. I don't know if it still smelled after, I was just glad they weren't my roommates. As I know some of the European women don't believe in washing their hair everyday, nor taking showers everyday. And your sister maybe either really cheap, or still believes washing your hair everyday is bad for it.
