How do you stay ripped?

Ms. Friedrich, you appear to be constantly "shredded" with magnonimous abs and yet your high intensity workouts surely require a high amount of calories or proteins or whatever. What in the world do your meals consist of that allow you to maintain such muscular mass and definition constantly. And what lower body exercises do you recommend for a real bad knee?

Well thank you Sphoghead, but I currently can't take credit for looking "that" shredded, but I'm working on it along with everyone else doing STS right now. My body responds best to heavy weights so I imagine I am going to see some great results in the next two Mesocycles. The first Meso whipped my stamina back in action and set the tone for what lies ahead so it is all good :D

Food selections and goals are to eat as healthy as possible all the time. In addition to that, if I am lifting a lot and regularly, I increase my calories and protein a bit. If I am doing extra cardio, I up my calories per meal a bit. I don't usually get very technical about this stuff. I can just feel what my body needs when from doing this so long. Right now I know what my body needs but I don't always listen, ;)

Knees are tricky. A perfect exercise for one with bad knees may be a disasterous exercise for another with bad knees. So I really am not ablwe to give you an exact answer. For the most part, many that I know with sensitive knees, seem to do well with cycling for a cardio workout and light weights accompanied by shallow depth on their leg exercises. If that doesn't work, try to do high rep floorwork exercises and things like Firewalkers and band kick backs to condition the legs.

Hope this helps!
