Whenever I do push ups, dips, or planks my wrists hurt all day. I know I can do the modifications but I am also wondering if there is a way I can strengthen my wrists so I wont have to do the modifications.

I have found using dumbells (like Kathryn stated) has helped me with my wrists hurting while doing push ups. I also think wrist curls have helped me strenghten my wrists. After doing these exercises for about six months now, I can do push ups without the use of dumbells, but each person is different.
