how do i post a picture?

Maybe someone who is more technically inclined can help me out since my husband is still at work and I'm attempting this on my own ... how do I post a pic in my profile? I tried, but to no avail. Help!

One way to do it is to first upload the pic to a free photo hosting site like picture trail or photobucket. Once you do that, right-click the photo, go to PROPERTIES, and copy the URL address. You can either paste that into a post, or if you want the photo as your avatar, paste the address into the avatar image box in your profile. Your profile can be accessed from the User menu. I have a Mac and was wondering, can't I just move it from iPHOTO? I am a technical moron and I don't understand what a URL address is.

A URL address is what is located at the top in your browser such as this post is

http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=post&forum=4&topic_id=516058&mesg_id=516110

or look at the area where you type in: www.cathe.com

same place will have the URL address.

Thanks for explaining this. Do I STILL have to use a shared photo site, instead of iPHOTO?

I'm not sure what iPhoto is, but if it's a place where your photos are posted online, then yes, it should work.

No, you can't do this from iPhoto (unless you publish it to a Mobile Me website through your dotMac account). In iPhoto, all you need to do is export the photo(s) you want to use to your desktop. Then go to Photobucket.com (or similar site) and use their uploading tools to upload the photo(s) from your desktop to their website. Then you will be able to get a URL that you can copy and paste into your forum post. Hope that helps!
