how did you test the barbell curls disc one?

I don't know if I did this one rep max test right so please help. On the disc both sets of barbell curls are done as "21's" and "21" appears as the rep number on the workout card. I was able to lift 18 pounds just to failure at the 21st rep, when Cathe finished. So I put that in the one rep max calculator (had to use 20 reps, not 21) and it gives my one rep max as 38 pounds. Then it calculated my workout card to lift 23 pounds! But I just failed at 18 pounds! There's no way I can do this exercise with 23 pounds! So I'm wondering if I you count the reps differently on 21's? Or should I have tested my one rep max doing straight barbell curls and not the half curls of the 21's?

21s are actually curling halfway for the first 7 reps, full range curls for the next 7 and then working the upper half for the next 7 reps, for a total of 21 reps. There have been some questions on this earlier and what SNM is saying is to test for regular barbell curls (to fail in 8-10 reps with full curls) and it should give you close to what you need for this exercise.
