Oriental Trading has really cute craft ideas... like a kit that makes 12 picture frames decorated with the holiday themes.
I'm not a crafty person but even I have had fun making cute, festive things.
They are very inexpensive!

in my situaltion, being a workout buddy is cool for the people nearby, but much of my family lives states away and I won't be seeing them, so it needs to be shipable. although I could virtually check in with them or send some coupons for when we do get together again
