HiIT - anyone getting cramps in their feet?

I am loving Shock Cardio, and really love HiIT but I am getting cramps in the arches of my feet during the workout. I am wearing my orthodics and Ryka aerobics shoes (mid-tops). I am wondering if I just need to get used to plyo stuff again. I am a fitness instructor on hiatus, and mainly have been cycling & running for the past 2 yrs. I sure hope that is all it is, but is anyone else having this trouble??

I have plantar fascitis and sometimes get cramps in the bottom of my feet. Before a workout try putting your foot on a small ball (tennis ball, racquet ball) and roll your foot over the ball. This stretches the fascia and hopefully you'll cramp less. You can also do this when you have cramps to make your feet feel better.

Good luck!

I have always had a problem with my feet cramping up during high impact moves. That is my biggest problem with Imax 1,2, and 3. I have tried different shoes, but have not found any that solve my problem.

I'd love to find a solution to this.

My feet don't cramp during some higher impact moves, but they do get tired and achy. The last pair of workout shoes I bought were off brand shoes that have Dr. Scholl's inserts. WOW, what a difference. Altho I only use them for higher impact workouts, I can tell they need to be replaced every 3-4 months. This, along with building my endurance and loosing weight, has helped my feet out a lot.

What kind of surface are you using? I'd been having really bad foot cramps for years, & they virtually disappeared after I put an aerobics floor in my basement. It has been a godsend!

I used to get cramps like that too with the IMAX workouts, treadmill, and elliptical, but I don't now that I use Vibram Five Fingers. My foot muscles are much stronger now.

It's Tileflex. My basement floor is concrete, so I put down carpet padding that's specifically for basements (it's more moisture resistent). Got it at Home Depot for less than $100. The Tileflex was pretty pricey, but it was fairly easy to install & has made such a huge difference it was worth every penny. It looks really nice too. I'm attaching a pic so you can see.........
