HIIT and Tabata

I think Cathe's explanation of tabata here is very thorough. http://cathe.com/tabata-workouts-will-the-real-tabata-please-stand-up
Tabata is one form of HIIT.
I think the basic definition of HIIT is a brief workout involving periods of High Intensity (generally 70%+ of your VO2 max - maximal aerobic capacity) exercise followed by another period (which vary in length depending on how you are doing it) of rest/active rest/less intense exercise.

That is my understanding of it, Tanny. :)
Obviously I am not Cathe! lol.
