High Step vs. Fanny Lifter

Good Afternoon everybody!
I had a question I needed help with. I was looking at buying a high step through Cathe.com and selling my fannylifter with my Firm tapes at a garage sale I am having in a few weeks. My question is for the ones that have used both which do you perfer to work with the lifter or the high step. I was wondering if the high step is better quality, more stable etc. . All responses are welcome!! :)

I made the switch from Fanny Lifter to High Step about a month ago and couldn't be happier! It is MUCH more stable than the FL, and the height adjustability can't be beat. With the FL, you get 3 height options and that's it. If you can't do leg presses on a 14" height, too bad. Not so great for short folks like me! With the HS I can set it at 12" for leg press - much better for my short stubby legs. :)

I LOVE my High Step!!! :D

I have both. I had a FL for years (I had the wooden one from years back) and then for christmas this year, mom got me the High Step w/an extra riser.

Personally, I like the HS b/c it comes apart and has a lot of uses. It is much more versitile and easy to throw around and it can be adjusted to your height (hence my extra riser!). To me, it has more uses than the FL (depending on which one you have). YOu can use it w/different amounts of risers, grab a riser to hold your stability ball, etc. Plus, it has the cushion on the top of the step and that seems to be a little less "flat" and therefore, better for my bad knee. It has a little more "give" to it.

I kept my Fanny Lifter and brought it to my mom's house so that when I travel, I need not bring it anymore. She uses it when I am not around as a step stool :)

I got my HS 2 days ago and used it yesterday with a Firm tape and then did a Cathe DVD too.
I like the High Step. I got mine from www.allaroundfitness.com- I think they have a better price than cathe.com, even with $10-15 shipping.
The High Step is still a bit foreign to me- I was laughing because I had to keep counting how many risers I had when the Firm would say "purple section" it took me a while to figure it out! LOL. "Four plus two plus two equals eight. Four plus two equals... six..." Overall, though, it is much more stable than the Fanny Lifter. And, bonus!- you can stop saying "fanny". That's worth the cost right there!!! :)
I have to keep the FL, though, as it works great for my cats when we have the front door open. They each get a step to sit on at the screen door and can watch the busy street without too much fighting over who gets the taller position.

LOL...:7 that is so funny.. your cats fighting over the higher step.

I have a birthday coming up next month and the High Step is what I am asking for from hubby. He will groan and say.. "just what you need, another piece of fitness equipment cluttering up the place"....:9

My parents came over and made a comment to my husband about our living room now being a gym (FL, HS, regular step, firm box, weights, stability ball in a chair) and he hit his forehead with his hand.

I thought that was rude. :*

I told him I'm trying to keep myself healthy and alive as long as possible, so it isn't like he doesn't benefit from my exercise...

:p

I want to buy a high step...I just haven't "justified" it yet...give me time and I will manage to! :p

I started with the FL but ended up upgrading to the HS, which is more stable and is more versatile, as you can adjust it at 2-inch increments. I brought the FL home and kept it there for the times when I visit, so I can do leg presses there. Otherwise, I'm sticking to the HS.

I LOVE the Fanny Lifter...
As a laptop table!}(

Other than that, except for the pretty colors, the high step beats it in every way: more adjustable, more stable, a wider top surface.
