High step or club step?

Ok, ladies, if you had to prioritize which of these you'd buy first, would you go for the high step or the club step? I have a Reebok step which is 8 inches. I have been looking at the high step because I think the extra inches probably make a difference for leg and butt work (opinions on that really appreciated)... but then I have been doing a lot of strength training lately and I think, gee, wouldn't it be nice if I didn't have to scoot around on this thing and had a nice, long club step to lie on!! LOL

I can't get both at one time, so if you had to choose, which would you go for?

Opinions appreciated!

Thanks,
Marie

IMHO:

If you are planning to do any IMAX workouts and are not very tall, I would suggest getting the The Step (original club version) so you can really do those workouts well. If you are taller, then the Reebok step is fine for those and you could go ahead with the high step purchase.

Hi, it depends on what your workout priorities are. If you are primarily interested in strength workouts with leg presses and other moves that require a high step, get the high step. If you primarily are into step workouts get the Club step. An 8 inch step may be too much for many of the step workouts including the IMAXes as noted above.

I would get the Original Club Step and possibly a few extra risers to make it higher like The High Step. That way you have a step for cardio, a step for a bench and also a high step if that makes sense??? You might have to modify SOME moves when using it for High Step cardio but I think it would work just fine.

I think you would get a lot more use out of the Club Step. It's used in most cardio w/o's and as a "flat" bench for the weight w/o's.

I have the Reebok Step and the High Step. I'm 5' 2", so it doesn't really matter to me that the Reebok is shorter. My butt just fits on it for bench presses, etc.

I agree with the others....if you like leg presses (and who doesn't), the high step can't be beat. I also like the agility stuff in the high step workouts. It is really fun and different.

I'm not sure if I would buy extra risers and get the club step to also be the high step - it seems like it might be a little unstable. I used this very strange stool that my husband had in the garage as my high step for a long time and when I got the real one, I realized how careful I had to be on it and that I relaxed and enjoyed the workouts more when I felt more stable on the high step.

Good luck. I may be biased - My Reebok is 10 years old this year and I have actually worn a lot of the rubber logo off the top!
