High Step Challenge - new fav!

Wow, I just finished High Step Challenge for the first time, and I love it! What a workout. I wanted to do both weights and cardio today, but didn't want to do more than about an hours workout. HSC fit the bill for me perfectly. Feels great when you're done, too.:7

HSC is one of my favorites too! I still find it challenging and there are great ways to modify the moves that are too difficult in the beginning. I feel great after the workout too.

I love it too!! Cathe keeps it moving, love the variety, love everything about it. If you have not tried HSTA, you will love that too.

I'm interested in buying this video, too. But I don't have a barbell to use, so I am not sure I can do it. Can you substitute heavy hand weights? I only have a curl bar, no barbell. Will hand weights suffice? Thanks!
 
I don't have a barbell and use dumbbells. I haven't had a problem yet. I use about 1/2 to 2/3 the weight Cathe uses, and DBs have been just fine for me so far. I gave DBs up to 16 pounds (each.)

I plan to get a barbell in the next few months, though, but I'm waiting until we move back to the States. Target.com has several barbell sets online - you might want to check that out.
 
Thanks for your reply. I will put HSC on my wish list and plan on using hand weights instead of a barbell until I get one.
 
Just did this one for the first time last night - the 50 min premix. DH never had such a great time laughing at all my shocking gasps and groans as I faced different parts of the circuit. (eg. the decline pushups??!!) You really do have to get a feel for moving around all the equipment for someone like me with a kind of "cotton-patch" set up.. I was a little dizzy racing around. Nevertheless mistakes burn calories too :0 !

All in all - it busted some old levels of stamina..and my heartrate was UP UP and I was wet wet.. Nice job Cathe. The music on this dvd is MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Last night, I was so annoyed when one of the classes in my gym was cancelled so I came home and did the 31 minute premix of High Step
Challenge. It is quite a workout. I went back to the gym for the 8 PM kickboxing class.
 
Can anyone link me to a breakdown of the two Timesaver workout premixes on this dvd? I was just looking for it...........Thanks!
